It's time to fight with plagiarism again

Most of the users know that since the Mosquito Squishers community has been closed and mods & admins left the Steemit, we do not have any team that would be fighting with plagiarism on the platform. Sure, it's the responsibility of the communities and their admins, but... first of all, not all communities are equally good at finding plagiarism, and secondly, without the reports, an abuser who is caught on the plagiarism in one community simply starts posting in another, where nobody knows them yet.

My suggestion is to create a universal system of fighting plagiarism that could be used by all, or at least most of the admins of the communities. Thanks to proper communication, the person who is sharing plagiarized content in one place would be marked with the warning in multiple communities and when the user will be sharing plagiarized content several times, he/she would be banned in most places on the platform. I assume @steemitblog could motivate admins and mods to join the project, announcing that participating in it will be taken into consideration while selecting the communities for booming support.

Does it sound interesting? If so, please read the details and consider if you want to join the project.

  1. I will create a community where every week I will be sharing an updated list of the abusers from the platform. Abusers will be found in private investigations but also, I will include the information about the plagiarized content found by admins and mods of all communities that participate in the project. To do that, I will be in touch with those admins on discord, asking them about the abusers (and links to plagiarized posts) once per week, a day before publishing the list.

  2. The rules that describe the abuser will be universal in all the communities. It will be described in my community and pinned to the wall. For instance: using photos that are not on the CC license is wrong, but those who do that should just be directed to the proper article where copyrights are explained, there is no need to mark them as the abuser unless, let's say, they participated in the photo contest and wrote in the description that they made this photography on their own, while in fact it's taken from the Internet.
When someone is sharing content where more than 50% of the text is plagiarized, it is clearly the abuse.

  3. The rules of reacting to plagiarism will also be universal and properly described. It will include: muting the post immediately, marking the person as the abuser, and sending the information to me, so I can include it on the next list, finally downvoting all the rewards from this post (if the SP of admin/community account will not be enough to downvote it, all admins of the communities that participate in the project will be obliged to help).

  4. People who will be sharing plagiarized content will be properly marked not only in the community where they cheated but in all communities that participate in the project (at least in those to which that user subscribed). Mark will look like that:
    (P1) - first plagiarism detected
    (P2) - second plagiarism detected
BANNED - third plagiarism detected + banning in all the communities and downvoting ALL the pending rewards.

  5. All the admins of the communities in the program will have to check the newest list regularly once per week and upgrade the labels of the Steemians who were cheating. The day before publishing the list they will have to share with me links to the detected plagiarized content (if there is any) on Discord. If contact with one of the admins or mods will constantly be impossible, that community will be excluded from the project.

  6. Private investigations, like on Mosquito Squishers, will be allowed, although it will be recommended to share the publication only when someone is 100% sure that described person is the abuser. For example - to detect content farming it's not enough just to prove that some accounts are sending the money to one user as he/she may help them in withdrawing the cash. If all those accounts additionally are using a similar style of writing, making the same mistakes in English or Spanish, or using the same photos, it's most likely content farming. All the private investigations will be double-checked and if they will prove the abuse, it will be included on the list.

  7. There will be no users above the law. That means that plagiarism will be prohibited for new and old users, for those who use the bid bots, for people with high and low reputations. Simply for everyone. We can't make excuses just because someone is long enough on the platform, participate in club100, or recently bought some STEEM.

What do you think?

What do you think about that project? Would you be interested in joining it (as the admins, mods, but also users with higher SP who could help in downvoting)? Do you have any questions or do you think something else should be included? The community will be created on the weekend and more details will be presented then. For now, I am talking about the project in general, I would like to know your opinion and see how many communities would be interested in fighting plagiarism together. Constructive critic most welcomed, excitement as well :)

I will try to make a list of communities that would be interested in joining the anti-plagiarism project. Please let me know in the comment if you are in or out. I'm tagging admins to make sure that publication won't be skipped by them.
