Weekly Reflections #25: "Seasonal Favorites".

Season greetings to you my beloved friends and steemians of our lovely community, trusting God we are all doing great in our respective ends? The season is here again, the season we've all been waiting and anticipating for, the season of love.
Thanks @damithudaya for organizing this contest on weekly reflections: Seasonal Favorites. One of the reasons we've always missed this very season is the fact that we've got a lot of favorites and so, we always longed to see the next season so as to enjoy and have a taste of our favourites. Having our favorites during this period is always very special because we always put in all our strength and efforts to see that we make the best out of it.

I've got a lot of winter favorites but will only be able to list my top three.

Favourite winter food

I always smiled at the mention of food because I've earned a few nicknames for the fact that I'm a lover of food. My elder brother calls me a foodie, my baby sis tagged me a food parasite and my mom? I bet you wouldn't love to hear this... A glutton. At some point she once asked me if I eat to live or I live to eat?. Lol

But hey!, we ain't just talking about any kind of food here but a favorite one and for a favorite season. This is a food I can eat throughout the season and not eat anything other food. My favorite winter food has always been white rice and stew with salad cream and turkey. It goes down well with any fruit juice. If you need a favour from me or you want me to go on an errand, just serve me this dish and the rest will be story. Yeah, that's to show how much I love and is obsessed about this very dish. Any Christmas celebrated without it, for me, is not a complete Christmas celebration.

Favorite Destination

Another of my seasonal favorites is my favorite destination. My favorite destination is always my home town. Oh, how I always longed to be home during this period. Once the Christmas season approaches, the time seems to move slowly. Seconds begins to move like minutes, minutes like hours and hours like days. As if there's a force that is slowing the time. But I know that all this is because of the fact that I want that time of the season to come so I can travel to my favorite destination; my home town because nothing is as special as spending the Christmas season in your home town, with your loved ones and childhood friends.

Favorite Holiday Memory

I remember vividly this winter holiday memory. Growing up in the neighborhood, I and my friends planned to go on a fishing expedition during the winter. We left home very early in the morning to the river in our local community with our hook and lines. We went from bank to bank trying to get a catch. I think the fishes casted some spells on us that day because we kept feeding them with our hard-earned earthworms and none even pitied us to enter into any of our hooks.
We toiled from morning till evening without getting a single catch. We were so tired, hunger and thirsty because we didn't carry extra food along with us and the water we took got finished even before afternoon. We were so ashamed coming back home empty-handed that we had to delay coming back till dusk so nobody could see us returning. Each time I remember this very winter memory, I always can't help but laugh out loud

I'm inviting @ashley-p @ibrahim @vickyson to also share with us their "seasonal favorites".

Thanks @goodybest for always supporting.
