Floods are now afflicting the residents of North Aceh. For the last week or so heavy rains have been pouring down on Earth, and around 3 in the morning, the river overflowed again, drowning the number of houses in the Paya Bakong, Matang Kuli and Lhoksukon sub-districts. River water continues to increase, requiring residents to evacuate to highland areas that are difficult to reach by overflowing river water.
Around 8 am, when the rain had started to subside, I took the initiative to witness firsthand the overflow of the river, which was getting heavier and closer to almost all houses in Paya Bakong, Matang Kuli and Lhoksukon sub-districts, and until now the number of inundated areas is increasing.
The evacuation process continues to be carried out by residents from last night until now, we hope that assistance in the form of boats will arrive soon to be able to facilitate the evacuation process, considering that many children and their parents must be evacuated immediately.
