Inspection / Meeting with School authority at the Steem Solar location

For a project to go well, it needs proper planning and agreements. It could take time, but with proper planning, a lot of things could be achieved.

Today, I paid a visit to the solar steem project location to have a brief meeting with the school authority and it was successful.

Having a brief with Head teacher and his Secretary

The head teacher expressed his appreciation for my visit. He said he didn’t expect I will come back again as I promised. Of course, I know why he said that. In Nigeria, it is common for people to visit a school like that, made a promise, and then disappear without coming back again.

The head teacher directed one of the staff, the ICT teacher/ director for the electrical department in the school to show me around some good spots in the school environment where I can install solar PV.

After spending 15 minutes walking around we finally decided to place it at the school ICT laboratory. That was a good spot where the solar system can be installed it is secured and safe there.

There are some computers in the lab, unfortunately, some are not working and there is no electricity to operate them. So, this development will be a great relief to this school and the students.

Due to students preparing for their exams to end their first academic term, I met with a few selected students who are in the department of Electrical in the technical college to have a talk about solar PV.

It was a happy thing for them since they also met someone who is in their field and more experienced, they asked a lot of questions about solar, while I answered a lot of questions on solar. It was a little bit pressured, but I have to do it, it was fun.

I did a little Interview with some of the students and they expressed their appreciation for this coming development.

I have promised to give them three days of orientation on solar PV, but that will be after installation.

They made a request to be around when I will be doing the installation, and of course, I agreed to their request. I believe that will give them a clearer understanding of how this thing works.

I also had a brief discussion with the HOD concerning the importance of Solar PV in society. He shared a little knowledge he knows about solar and I enlighten him on that.

I also gave a little lecture on solar PV and the steemit platform to some of the staff that later join us, the lecture lasted for about 45 minutes. I was already sweating because hot weather and too many questions, but it was all fun. It was worth it.

Hopefully, some staff will join the platform soon and this will bring great relief to them. More updates on the Project Coming soon.
