Art Attack! #115: Magical Unicorn Cat-Girl 🦄

We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!

So continuing from last week,, we have another art present that I did for another one of my streamer friends! I've been very fortunate to have met so many awesome people since the start of my streaming journey on Twitch and it's been so nice getting to know them and being part of a ragtag gang of streamers! We're all really supportive of each other and celebrate one another's accomplishments like my friend Tenzeru hitting 1000 followers!

Her mods had prepared a kudoboard, which works like a digital bulletin board for everyone to write congratulatory messages for her to read on stream and I wanted to draw something nice for her since she's done some art for me too! In fact she drew this adorable emote for me:

So I felt like I owe it to her to draw something and what better opportunity to do so than her celebration? And a few days before that while I was on her stream she showed off this adorable unicorn plushie she found that she really liked a lot and it gave me the idea to draw her OC riding it through the starry sky!

Here's what the plushie looks like:

She actually found it on the side of the road and brought it home, cleaned it up and now it's on her desk somewhere! I thought it looked so cute!

So Tenzeru's OC is a magical cat girl that she designed herself and looks like this:

I tried to emulate it the best that I could but I couldn't do an anime style like her and I also wanted to make it look cute to match the unicorn plushie so this was what I ended up with:

The unicorn plushie was a lot of pink and I wanted more colour since the background and Tenz's character was also very pink so I modeled the colour scheme after the Galarian Ponyta from Pokemon! I think it worked, but I could've drawn Tenz better. I didn't really know what to do with her hair since she's supposed to be flying.. Back then I wasn't so used to drawing people (and tbh I'm still not) but I think I've improved since then and can do a better job now.

Either way, I'm glad Tenzeru loved it and I'm so glad her community had grown so much since then! She's one of the most wholesome and supportive streamers I know and is always so welcoming to her chat she deserves all the love she gets and more!
