Who doesn't like to travel? I enjoy traveling to new places Although we went to various places from time to time, we never went to visit from our college I am studying in sixth semester now And in a few days my diploma in engineering course will be over. That's why we friends decided where to go together But no one wants to do that kind of responsibility. That is why it has to be canceled later. After few days a dear sir from our department came to class and told us to go on industrial tour We all almost agree With another trip, we will be made practical, said Sir. As we are electrical technology students, our trip will be somewhere related to electricity

Sir himself decided the place, "Bhermara Power Plant and Hardinge Bridge". To say power plant, I will go to see the biggest power grid of Bangladesh, where electricity is brought to Bangladesh through 400KV line from India. We are all very happy, for the first time in our life we were lucky enough to visit a big power plant. 300 taka was charged for all of us The travel distance from our college is about 25 km. The date of travel was fixed, 17 January 2023. We made all travel arrangements within two days We were about 130 students A total of three buses were hired.

We were asked to attend the college at 9 am on 17th We all went to college as usual. Then we boarded the bus designated for us. Before that we picked up our essentials and food Our journey started around 10 am. Everyone was busy enjoying themselves and taking pictures. We boarded a bus for 44 only from our class. 5 teachers from our department went to church with us. Who were always guiding us.

We went to Hardinge Bridge first. There we got off the bus and had breakfast. We were given a banana and bread each for breakfast. Then we moved to the open field for our practice Basically our first task today was to measure the height of a high voltage line tower with the help of a theodolite. We measured the height of the tower for a long time. Then our sir introduced us to the various things used in the tower. After that we packed our practical things and got back on the bus.

Then our journey started to visit PGCB located in Bheramara. We reached the power plant at 1 pm Going there, the students of our bus were dropped first Then we were first taken to the control room. All systems there are controlled by computers. There was an engineer in charge who explained the whole system to us How we bring electricity from India and how it is supplied to Bangladesh. I myself asked him various questions. Then our group was thrown out and another group was entered Here all the systems are controlled through different types of software.

Now we came down and looked around. We were accompanied by a B.Sc engineer from BUET who showed us around the entire area. He explained how all the systems are managed. A 400 kV AC line was brought from India, then converted to 66 kV DC. It was then converted to 230kV in Purnaray and transmitted to different parts of Bangladesh. Power transfer is mainly done at this place Its name is "PGCB" (Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited).

We wandered around till 3 pm and ate there. After that I spent some more time. I took pictures with my friends. After that, I boarded the bus again and left to reach our destination. For the first time in my life I entered such a big power plant and got to know how the whole system is operated. It is a memorable day of my life.
