Dama de Noche también llamada Flor de Baile, también es conocida con otros nombres en otros países como "Planta Hoja", "Dama de una noche" o "Reina de la noche". Su nombre científico Epiphyllum oxypetalum. Esta presente en muchos países como en Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panamá, Colombia, México, Paraguay y Venezuela.
La planta tiene una hoja plana, de verdad no llama la atención en los jardines, parece un cactus pero plano. Cuál es su mayor secreto. Su flor es única y bastante grande. Para poder verla tendrás que hacer como yo instalarte desde las 9 y media de la noche a disfrutar el proceso de apertura. Desde que descubro el pequeño bulbo deben pasar unos días que va tomando tamaño.
Hasta que sé que esa noche abrirá porque tiene el tamaño adecuado. Una vez estaba cayendo una pequeña lluvia mientras trataba de disfrutar de su apertura, no importo mojarme un poco esperando cada movimiento de sus pétalos hasta completar todo el proceso. Desde que comienza aproximadamente 9 y media de la noche comienza a expandirse y a ir soltando suavemente sus blancos brazos hasta completar en unos 15 minutos su apertura completa.
Su olor muy parecido al del jazmín simplemente delicioso. Publicar esta fotografía única es mis post, en mis estados de WhatsApp donde los vecinos disfrutan su vista sin tener que esperar la noche.
Ella no durara muchas horas ya al amanecer estará totalmente cerrada. Y tendrás que esperar la próxima flor.
