Introduction

From the time we started this community till now, our vision remains to make Steemit the number 1 social media and content publishing platform ever. We have taken recruitment personal. Retention of old and new users is a priority too. SteemAlive admin continues to think about innovative ideas and opportunities to promote this platform and use it as a tool to bring people together and change lives. Our weekly contests, LID and other ideas are products of brain-storming and innovation, all geared towards promoting Steemit and driving mass adoption of Steem. We are still thinking, which is why we are glad to present another idea to @steemcurator01 and @steemitblog. We call this SteemAlive City Coordinator (SCC)

What is SteemAlive CIty Coordinator (SCC)

We understand that large organizations function efficiently by breaking up their workforce into smaller, manageable groups. So there are departments, and smaller units or groups within a large workforce. If each small unit is active and functional, the entire organization stays strong and work is done efficiently.

We have formed Steemalive as a growing community. We also broke up members into teams. A good number of us are Nigerians scattered across the states and cities. We want to promote Steemit in every city and state, but that may be difficult if there are no well-coordinated groups in each city. So the idea of SteemAlive City Coordinator (SCC) was born. The main work of the SCC is to promote Steemit in their city and facilitate local networking. We hope this arrangement will help us efficiently market Steemit to every city and State not just in Nigeria, but everywhere. Ideas are not always fully formed, but here are some roles that the SCC will perform.

Supporting SCC's to perfomr their duties

We know that the role of each SCC requires significant time and resources. For example, in organizing a small meetup of 6 persons, the SCC may need to secure a suitable location for it. Basically, we will start by using Fastfoods or restaurants as most will allow a small group to gather and discuss provided they buy food or snacks from them. The SCC may need to spend on soft drinks and snacks in order to use such facilities. SteemALive community will support them through small Steem donations possibly on a weekly basis since our voting power is still small. We hope to help them in this and other ways. But, you can @steemitblog can assist us too.

When the SCC's make their weekly reports of their meetups or other activity, we kindly hope you will assist them in any ways you deem fit, such as giving some votes to the report post. This will encourage them to do more. Of course, we will emphasize that the role will require significant selflessness on the part of the SCC. However, we strongly believe that collectively, SteemAlive, the SCC and Steemit team will be able to adequately provide the minimum resources that will enable the SCC to perform their role in an efficient manner.

Selecting the SCC's

This post is both a proposal and an announcement for this project. So Steemit users that are interested to fill this role are welcome to indicate that in the comment section of this post. We need people that are active and have shown some level of commitment on this platform. So we make a small entry requirement.

Interested applicants must fulfill these conditions

1. Must be active users of Steemit.
3. Must have been on Steemit for at least 2 months.
3. Must have completed all their achievement posts (or gotten to achievement 5 at least) and demonstrate a good understanding of Steemit
4. Must not be promoting blockchains or platforms similar to Steemit.

Note: APPLICANTS SHOULD INDICATE THE CITY THEY ARE APPLYING FOR

The Steemit Team are also free to suggest further minimum entry requirments for the SCC's. But we hope these above and the roles to be performed, will give interested applicants an idea of what is expected of them.

Conclusion/Further work

We hope this arrangement will foster a more effective and marketing approach for Steemit in every city. We also believe that SCC's will help drive mass adoption of Steem in cities where they operate. Like we said earlier, ideas do not come out fully formed. So we are open to suggestions and fine-tuning to make this project better and efficient.

We hope to kick off almost immediately. We will allow users to apply for this role and vet them. Selected SCCs will be published between now and 7 days. We wish to kick off immediately.

Thank you so much in advance @steemitblog for supporting this initiative. We also thank SteemAlive hardworking team leaders and our active members. Together, we can achieve more!
