Greetings beautiful people. Hope this meets you well. Am glad to be here to participate in this weeks diary game contest. This is my diary of 15/12/23 which was a Friday.

It was a beautiful day filled with expectations as I and my friends were all gathered together in our friends place to celebrate with her on her traditional wedding. The day began with us waking up by 5am and gathering together in the living room to pray with her.

We finishing praying at about 7am and proceeded to start the house cleaning in preparation for the guests that are coming for the occasion. We had to start the cooking for those in the house because the caterers are taking care of the wedding food proper.

After preparing the cooler of food, I and my friends went to go take our bath and begin to prepare for the occasion. We were many hence it took quiet a while as we took turns bathing. After bathing, I tried out the cloth I wanted to wear for the wedding but to my amazement it was too tight for me. I had added weight, hehehe. I had to make do with the other cloth I brought and I was glad I took an extra clothing else I would have been stranded.
While we were dressing up, the bride was dressing too and while all of these were going on, marital rites deliberation were going on in the living room. The both families were together trying to sort out the bride price listing. This really took a while because the groom’s family arrived late in the afternoon.
They finished the deliberations late in the evening at about 5pm and then the traditional marriage ceremony started properly. The bride was already dressed and had to start her first outing to greet the guests.

The bride came out for her first outing and after greeting the people, she had to go back inside and dress up for her second outing. The second outing was for the wine carrying. She had to carry the wine to go and look for her husband.

When she has found him, she would take him to her father for the fatherly blessings. When they have been blessed, they proceed to the dance floor and it was dance dance dance until mama calls home.
Friends and well wishers were there to celebrate their beautiful day with them and it was such joy to behold. I was glad to be a part of her great day. It was a day well spent and worth remembering.
