Nuts are called dried fruits. They are the secret of good health. It is very popular because of their properties. Some nuts are very costly and some are cheap too. Nuts are not only delicious to eat, but they are also rich in nutrients.
What are the nuts ?
Dried fruits and their cores are known as nuts. They are naturally dried and contain little or no water.
How many types of nuts ?
Almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts,chironji ,Raisins or dry grapes. All these come under the category of nuts. These are expensive.
Dried grapes are called raisins . When they dry naturally, they become raisins. Large sized dried grapes are called dry grapes. Eating raisins improves physical and mental development of children. Calcium deficiency is also fulfilled by eating raisins. Due to which bones and teeth are strong. Raisins are also eaten as soaked. Eating soaked raisins helps in reducing weight.
My younger brother likes raisins in Halwa very much. So whenever Halwa is made in my house, raisins and cashew nuts are definitely added to it. It enhances the beauty of Halwa and also increases its taste.
Peanuts also come under the category of nuts. But it is cheap and in winter, every person eats peanuts with great love. Eat it with salt or with chutney. I love eating peanuts with garlic and green chili chutney.
We should include nuts in our daily diet. Each nut has its own qualities but I would suggest that the elders of the house should consume specifically walnuts because walnuts strengthen bones on daily basis.
Benefits of eating nuts
There are many benefits of eating nuts while there are some disadvantages as well. If you consume nuts in limited quantity then they prove to be beneficial. But if nuts are consumed in excess then they also do harm. They are delicious, due to which people cannot control themselves and eat more than they need.
One should eat nuts by roasting them. They become crunchy by roasting but if nuts are roasted at high temperature, then their nutrients are reduced.
Nuts are also roasted in two ways
1- Dry roasting
2- Oil roasting
Nuts are the favorite of all of us. It has significant in daily lives as if there is a sweet dish made in the house and we do not add nuts in it. Then full flavour in eating the sweet dish is absent or rather nuts are the life of the sweet dish . And its used in its decoration too.
Nuts are bought whenever the festival season starts, in marriages, food items because they increase richness in it. Dry fruits are prominent in them. Nuts not only add soul to the dish but it is used by people in giving gifts to each other during Diwali and many more occasions.
It is a sign of warm gesture. People prefer to give or take with lots of love. It is a must item to be included.
