Choices! What will it be? #16

Hello, my dear fellow steemian friends, this week too, @patjewell has suggested another five words to express our ideas. Now it is our turn to pick one topic and do it justice. This week my eyes were attracted by the word 'PILLOW' because it is very close to our lives.

If I asked you what your favorite spot in your house is, I'm sure the majority of you would say the bed. If so, can we talk about the bed, without talking about a pillow? The pillow is the place where we share both our joys and our sorrows. Only the pillow could taste and feel our tears, which we had secretly shed for the rest of the world. Is there another comfort than sleeping with our heads on one pillow and hugging one another? Ha.. ha.. Can you imagine how we would feel in that situation?

After a long day and a long journey, we go to our bedroom for a comfortable night's sleep. When we think of a good night's sleep, we probably think of our bedroom, our bed, our pillow, and our blanket. Especially, to get a good night's sleep, the pillow that is used to support the head, must be of high quality and comfortable. Pillows were made of thick stone in ancient times, but nowadays, pillows are made of comfortable materials. This is because comfort is very important for healthy sleep. Then it is our responsibility to choose a comfortable pillow to get a good night's sleep.

There are numerous advantages to selecting the best pillow, including headache and neck pain relief, improved sleep quality, and the ability to wake up feeling refreshed the next morning. But do you know how to choose a high-quality, appropriate pillow for a restful night's sleep?

When choosing a high-quality, appropriate pillow, we should consider our sleeping posture. As you all know we all have our own sleeping position. Choosing a pillow according to our sleeping position is very important. A good pillow aligns the head, neck, and spine when the head is laid down and supports the natural curve of the spine. Therefore, it is very important to choose the best type of pillow according to our sleeping posture.

If you sleep turning on one side, it is important to keep the spine at an optimal height; therefore, a pillow that provides more support to the head should be chosen. As well choose a pillow that provides some extra support to the neck.

If you sleep with your face up, the best pillow for you is a medium firm pillow with neck and head support. As well that should not push your head forward. There should be a finish that supports the body to maintain its natural sleeping position.

If you sleep lying on your stomach, a soft, flat pillow can be used to prevent your neck and spine from stretching. You can sleep in this posture even without a pillow. However, this is regarded as the most stressful posture. The specialists are advising to change this posture and switch to another posture. If you sleep in this posture, choose a soft non-stuffy pillow. When you sleep like this, it is better to keep a pillow under the abdomen and pelvis to help prevent back pain.

The pillow's standard dimensions are 20 inches and 26 inches. A super standard pillow measures 20 inches by 28 inches. A queen pillow measures 20 inches by 30 inches. A king pillow measures 20 inches by 36 inches. These king pillows are appropriate for large beds as well as overweight people.

V-shape pillows are best for those suffering from neck and back pain or snoring. U-shape pillows are popular among expectant mothers as it provides good support to the body in various sleeping postures.

In today’s market available a wide range of pillows, including Wool and Cotton Pillows, Down Pillows, Feather Pillows, Microfiber Pillows, Memory Form Pillows, and Natural Latex Pillows. Whatever pillows we buy, first we should consider our sleeping posture. That will provide us with a comfortable night's sleep and we can wake up refreshed the next morning.
