I must say weldone ma'am for putting up this amazing contest.

I will be talking about Rabbit as my chosen topic for this contest....

First of all, what are rabbits?

Those are four different species of rabbit.

Rabbits are those small furry mammals that has long ears,with short fluffy tails accompanied with strong, and large hind legs. And they also have two pairs of incisors teeth, that's a pair at the upper mouth and another pair at the lower mouth, which are very very sharp. They also have two peg teeth that's hidden behind the top incisors.
Rabbits are warm blooded animals, which like living in groups and also they love their lives so much (who or what wouldn't?). That's why they will dig tunnels and stay under the ground, their habitat is called "warren" just to protect themselves from predators from eating them, unfortunately for them they are preys to other animals.
Rabbits eat and live only on plants, that is why they are referred to as "herbivores".

As as 2017, there were over 305 breeds of domestic rabbits in 70 countries around the world. Wow! who knows how many other breeds must have been discovered since then till now. Over 7 years now, that is a long time for new discoveries to be made you know.

Now let's know what each gender is called...

A female rabbit is called doe

A male rabbit is called buck

And a baby rabbit is referred to kit

Let's look at some of the characteristics of Rabbits:-

• Rabbits teeth are known to grow continuously. They grind the grass with their incisors teeth.

• Rabbits are highly social comrades; what this means is that,they clean each other, eat and love sleeping or lying to each other.

• They can jump very high. A rabbit can make a jump about 10 feet, and it can also see 360 degrees around him.

• Ears: Most of the rabbits can turn their ears 180 degrees, and their ears are capable to pinpoint the location in which a sound is coming from. They are extremely very alert.

• Rabbits have better sense of hearing:- Due to their large ears, so their hearing ability is second to none. They can pick a little sound like, a snap of the fingers.

• Rabbits communicate using a special code, I don't know how that is possible, but I must say that it is amazing.

Just like humans, rabbits have what I called special characters like;

They can be timid, shy, curious, silly,and high spirited. They can show affection by sitting near you, play and even climb on you.

There's what I called fun facts you need to know about rabbits:-

• Rabbits are very clean animals, that is why it is very easy to house and take them as pets.

• They are crepuscular in nature. This means that they are most active at dawn(morning )and dusk(in the evening).

• Do you know that the oldest rabbit lived for 18 years and 10 months with its owner and entered the Guinness book of record. That's unbelievable.😱😱😲😲. I bet you didn't know that.
