Social media in my life has become not just a place for fun, but another world with its many lessons. Social media has become a school to any, whether we like it or not. As far as I can remember, I spend about three hours on the different handles I have on my phone. That’s quite a lot, right?

There are numerous ways social media have negative impacts/effects on the lives of our loved ones, especially the young ones. Some of which are:

  1. Depression: a lot of people feel depressed if someone doesn’t talk with them on social media.

  2. Isolation: We automatically zoom out everyone and discussions if we cannot control how the media ae using us in return.

  3. Bad management of time: If one is not careful how they use their time, they find out the day is gone already with nothing achieved.

  4. Unhealthy relationships: We tend not to have enough time for our physical friends, family members because if social media.

  5. Misplacement of priorities: Most people choose incessant things over what’s more important to them and their future.

IF YOU HAD TO IMPLEMENT 5 RULES TO MAKE SURE THAT SOCIAL MEDIA BECAME HEALTHIER IN YOUR ENVIRONMENT, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?

If I had my way, then he five (5) rules would be:

  1. Proper management of time: know how you spend your time.
  2. Purpose of socialising: Reason for wanting to socialise.
  3. Age: Be 18 years of age, at least.
  4. Effects: How are you responding to what you’re consuming on these platforms?
  5. Know yourself: How disciplined are you to be on any of the platforms?

In summary, this is a very crucial topic that must be taken seriously. I wish I could say more.
