Suicide is totally forbidden in every society and is the major sin in Islam individual who kill himself will not enter paradise (subhanAllahi). Nigeria is among the countries that have high rate of suicide globally because most of citizen commit suicide due to social- economic and environmental factor.
Bokoharam in Nigeria used children below 18 years as human bomb to carried out their illicit act, because majority of these children who carried out this big sin were neglected by their parents and they see this dangerous journey as a means to survive.
Prophet (S.A.W.) said: “.... Whoever kills himself with something, then Allah will punish him with whatever he killed himself with on the Day of Judgement. ”
So suicide is not the solution to the problem we are facing we need to see professional social work, counsellor or preacher who can discuss the word of God with such individuals.
I could remember in 2019 when we were about to graduate from university, there is one guy from faculty of agriculture he was at final level. People who knew him testify that is so gentle, brilliant and caring, the reason why he kills himself was when he met his supervisor for his final year project.
We heard that supervisor accused him of plagiarism she reject all the thesis and told him to rewrite an other project for her from chapter 1 to chapter 5, the guy become depressed suddenly because he carry over the project while see others graduate. he began to isolate himself from others student in the following day we heard he drank a bottle of sniper (brand name for harmful chemical) which lead to his death.
• The individuals who experience negative thinking toward his or her own life need to associate or have close relationship with family and friends by opening up to them on various issue or challenges he encounter on a daily basis.
• People who experience post traumatic stress disorder need to visit psychologist and explain to them some previous bad experience you have go through, appropriate therapy will be provided to such individuals.
• Preacher also have the work to do, they should bring out some verses from the Qur'an where God prohibit suicide by doing this it will eliminate or reduce suicide in our society.
• Schools must also teach their students about danger associate with the killing oneself and they must also establish some unit that will take care of this people.
We should try as much as possible to eradicate negative thinking in our mind we can do this by hang out with our love one or visit therapist if need be. I will like to invite @esteem, @writer123 and @salifu to join me in this contest.
