It's an interesting theme organized by our beloved Steem For Bangladesh community for the Engagement challenge. A memorable day with friends.
Friends are just a valuable part of our lives. You know that the hardest thing in life is to understand people and filter the ones who can unconditionally rely on. So, it's always nice to share about the times I spend with those bunch of people.
What did you do to make the day extra special? And the most memorable activity you did with your friends on that day?
A few weeks ago, one of my best and oldest friends got married. We went to the same school from grade one, have thousands of memories together, in the same Advanced level class, and now both are engineers. So, it's a pretty special day for me as well. A number of my school friends were invited to the homecoming party held at Monaragala.

The most memorable feeling is meeting these people. It's after ages. Because, we are in different places, studying/ doing jobs all around the island. So, there are so many things to catch up on!
You know, friendship within boys is so much different. We call someone a best friend but don't connect with them for months. But still, we are just close friends as fresh.
What funny moments did you experience during your time together?
Weddings + friends are always funny. When it's mixed with some alcohol, the moment is converted into a comedy movie. 😅😅 With the current situation of the country, we create a place in the parliament for a moment. The guy in the middle is the president and we are his ministers.

And then came the dancing session. It was a happy moment for all of us. Because he is the first one to tie the knot in our Maths class.
What did you learn about your friends from spending time together?
Well, as I said it was after a long time. So, we talk and discuss many things. We all are now in our mid-twenties, not the stupid and irresponsible kids anymore. This a critical phase that we have to think about our future. With the economy of the country going to hell, we talk about our future plans.
Some are planning for immigration, changing their career, starting business,es etc. So, after all, I could learn more about the real issues they are facing, future plans, and about their dreams.
What was the most unexpected thing that happened throughout the day?
At the end of the event, we were dancing on the floor with the couple. And suddenly, he got the microphone and started to sing for his new bride. Actually, it's really romantic and a big surprise for us as well. We didn't know that he can sing that well.

And the other unexpected thing was, after the end of the event the couple was about to return to their home. And he asked us to come there as well. And he asked to spend the night. 😅 As it was the start of a new chapter of their life, he was nervous and emotional. Crying like a baby. 😂 But we managed to escape at the midnight.
What would make the day even better if you could do it again?
Well, we wanted to give a small and funny rag for the couple at the end of the event. But we couldn't do that due to some reason. Actually, we couldn't plan that well also. So, the would have been better if we have done it also.

Hopefully, he will not get that opportunity again. But we will do that at the next wedding of a friend.
How do you think the day impacted your friendship? What was the most meaningful conversation you had with your friends on that day?
The day really helped us all to catch up with the things going on between each other. It helped us to sharpen our friendship more. And as I said earlier, we discussed a lot about our future plans and share ideas about the current opportunities as well. So, those conversations were really amazing.
And finally, we agreed to go on a trip at the year's end, as all of us are coming home again for the holiday. So, that idea is going to be a reality in a few days, as we have finalized everything now. So, waiting for that day.
