Step-1:
Peel the Amara and cut it into pieces and prepare all the ingredients. I did the whole cooking in the clay oven.
Step-2:
First, place the pan on the stove and when the pan is hot, add 2 tablespoons of soybean oil. Add the chopped garlic, onions, and green chillies to the heated oil. Then onions, garlic, and green chilies are lightly fried, then add the shrimps and fry a little more. Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt to taste one by one. Fry the spices for 3/4 minutes.
Step-3:
When the oil comes out from the masalas, cover it for a while with the chopped Amara pieces. Then fried the Amaras with masala for 4/5 minutes and add water and cover with a lid so that the boiled is well. After 8 minutes, when the Amaras are cooked, take them down and boil the cumin seeds.
Step-4:
Amara Tok- Jhal should keep a little more broth. If one doesn't like cumin seeds then it can be omitted. This Tok-jhal can also be cooked with small puti fish along with Amara. I eat a little more rice on the day we cook Tok-Jhal. You will also cook and eat it, I hope you will like it too.
