Assalamu Alaikum
For many days, my elder son wanted to eat Chital fish /Clown knifefish and also Haor fish of Sunamganj. Now sitting in Dhaka, where can I get this haor fish? However, after many attempts, a fresh chital fish was found in Abdullahpur wholesale fish market, so my husband bought it and brought it. So today I will cook curry with the stomach part of this fish. Usually, there are many fish bones on the back of chital fish, so kofta is made with it.
So today I am sharing a recipe. The ingredients I need to cook this fish are –
Chital fish | A few pieces of fish belly and head |
---|---|
Ginger garlic paste | 1 tsp |
Turmeric powder | 1/4 tsp |
Chilli powder | 1/2 tsp |
Cumin powder | 1/2 |
Coriander powder | 1/2 |
Rice bran oil | 2 tbsp |
Tomato | 1 Chopped |
Two onions | 2 Chopped |
GreenChili | 3 Pieces |
Coriander leaves | a little |
Fresh Chital Fish Curry Recipe Cooking Method
This Chital fish has many fish bones, so first cut the fish and wash it well. To remove the smell in the fish estate, after keeping the fish with vinegar and salt for 2-3 minutes, drain the water well. When the water drains, rub the fish with a little turmeric powder and shallow fry the fish in a pan.
Then take all the spices in a bowl and add a little water to make a paste. It will taste good. Now put oil in a pan and lightly fry a green pepper and onion in it and add spice paste and mash it a little and mash it with chopped tomato in such a way that the oil comes out from the spice mixture.
When the fish water dries up a little, add green chilies and coriander leaves and keep it for 2 minutes.
When I served it with white rice, the fish tasted delicious.
Our country is a riverine country, as Bengalis our main food is rice and fish. And this fish is a good source of protein. We can keep fish in our daily diet. We get useful protein from other harmful animal proteins in fish.
Protein is an essential nutrient for the overall health of the human body. That is, this protein works as a component of body cell structure. Apart from protein, iodine, calcium, phosphorus, vitamins and minerals are available in this fish. So it is better to eat fish than meat for protein every day.
I will come back to you with a new recipe some other day. Until then stay well and healthy. Allah is Hafez and Allah help everyone.
Thank you
Best regards
