Hello to everyone in the Steem For Bangladesh Community. It's a great pleasure to write in this community again and this time about the engagement contest. This time I'll be trusting God to narrate a story about how I lost a valuable item. I hope you read and be inspired also as I was when I received the invitation from @chant.

We all have something we hold on to and ever think we can never lose it. But when it happens we have mixed feelings and don't actually know how to go about it. I'm gonna try to buttress this same feeling in my write up below. Be blessed as I answer the guiding questions.

Have you ever lost something very important to you?

Before you get into a house, you need to have access to that house and it is your access to the house that permits you to do whatever thing you need to do. In my case, I lost access to my house, and by that I mean I lost the keys to my house one Sunday morning. Okay let me narrate😅.

One Sunday morning as it is my custom to arrive church as early as 5am, I woke up and was prepared to go to church l. And at the honk of my Deacon's bike, I hurriedly left the house and closed the door to my room. We arrived the church premises and I noticed that I didn't have the keys to my room on me any longer.

I tried to retrace my steps to know where I might have dropped them to no avail and was already in shock. Eben while we prayed our morning prayers, I kept on checking where I must have kept the keys to my room that Sunday morning. Inorder for the news not to worry me any longer, I concluded that I had misplaced my keys and will obviously sleep outside that day.

What emotions did you experience upon losing the item?

There's something called dilemma in English language, and this is a bad feeling of being caught up between two things simultaneously 😅 my own case I wasn't in a dilemma, I was caught up between many feelings and a lil bit traumatized by the fact that I will sleep outside. I almost cried while praying but it was laughter that kept coming, since I've never lost such before.

You see even while we prayed, my prayer partners noticed I was lost because my focus wasn't on the prayers I made but on the keys I lost. And the bible tells us that a double minded man can't receive anything from God. That was the case. I was angry at myself for my carelessness and I was anxious about where I would sleep that night. Everything was like an illusion to me and I was really in worry.

Did you do anything to find it?What was the result?

Of course yes, there's what I love calling step retracing. I opted that the deacon allows me to retrace my steps back home to see where I might have dropped my keys but he denied. I continued contemplating on where I might have dropped them after locking up my door.

I checked everywhere in my bag, thought of all possible things and places i would've gone to have lost the key but to no avail. Indeed it wasn't an easy thing at all thinking and searching at the same time. The final result of all the search was futile and I just trusted God that I might have left it on my door.

The good news is that when I left church service that day I ran to the house immediately and there was my key hanging on my door waiting for me to get into my room😂

What steps do you follow to avoid losing such precious items in the future?

As every man would always say, "once beaten, twice shy" I searched for an etiquette which I had in the house and labelled it with my name and location and telephone number so that if anything happens in the future that I lost my keys it'll be easy for the finder to reach me as fast as possible.

Also I've taken it up to myself that I will always check where to keep my keys immediately when I lock my room I throw the keys in my bag. No matter how pressed up I am. It is very important to be calm in such situations.

Conclusion

Losing something is never a good thing, I have lost many things from my birth even till now and I still lose stuff because one can never be too careful. But by all means you should have measures whereby you limit the losses. I lost my wallet with money and my identifications in it. And many other stuff too. To this effect I call on my friends @newtonb, @habdallah, @mesola, @wintia and @bongk to partake of this contest.
