Do I think that charity work should be done openly or secretly?

I think charity work can be done both publicly and privately. Because I am speaking from the perspective of Islam and I have read this in some pages of the book. Almighty Allah mentions in Quran Majeed that;

'If you give charity publicly, it is better and if you do it secretly and give it to the needy that is better for you and through this, Allah will remove your evils. Allah is Aware of what you do. (Sura-2 Baqarah, verse: 271).

I do not want to say anything more about giving outside of Islam because Allah Almighty Himself has mentioned this matter in the Holy Quran. So it can be said that charity work can be done both openly and secretly.

Why should charity?

According to the interpretation of Islam, by giving charity, one's life and property are purified and in this case one can get great rewards. In the Qur'an, charity is said to be the same as prayer. Zakat, which we give during the holy month of Ramadan, is mentioned many times in the Qur'an. Zakat is sometimes referred to as 'Sadaqah' and sometimes as 'Infaq' and in this case the word Infaq is used in a general sense, the word Sadaqah in general and the word Zakat in a special sense. Therefore, it is necessary to purify one's wealth, to give charity to the poor people through my zakat goods to benefit others and gain great rewards.

What are the benefits and social impact of charity?

There are many benefits of donating which I have already discussed. Moreover, donation increases the present and hereafter virtues, honor and glory of the giver. So it has to be given carefully with respect, honor and respect. Donation – charity, charity should be respectfully delivered to the recipient with a pure heart and relatives and neighbors should be given preference in the matter of donation. I learned about these aspects of charity work from textbooks. Moreover, charity works benefit the poor, helpless people which is a matter of reward for us and giving charity is very beneficial for poor people. If rich people in the society give charity to the poor people, the suffering of the poor people in the society is reduced to a great extent and as a result of charity, the sense of brotherhood is maintained between the poor and the rich people.

Who should give charity?

Donation cannot be given to all people. Donation cannot be given to a person who is financially independent. In Islam, charity can be given to people whose list is mentioned. They are;

• Needy / Poor.
• Indebted.
• Orphans.
• Helpless.
• Miskin etc.

Allah says in the Qur'an:

And those who spend their wealth to gain the pleasure of Allah and bring maturity to themselves, their example is like a garden on a hill, it rained heavily, so that it grew twice as much. If it does not rain heavily, then light rain (enough for that). And whatever you do, Allah sees it best. - Surah Baqarah (2): 265

Conclusion

Through charity, zakat, it is possible to sanctify one's material life with the pleasure of Almighty Allah. It is a noble virtue and great reward can be gained in charity and zakat. We should let those who have more money help the poor and needy people. Giving charity can bring honor and peace in this world and the hereafter if it is done for the pleasure of the great creator.
