Another wonderful contest here and I will be participating in it today to also share my contributions. Drug addiction is something we see commonly among youths, especially these days. Today seeing this contest reminds me of my duty as a youth to help others not to get themselves addicted to drugs.
The topic says we should save youth from drug addiction. Now I will answer the questions that follow the topic to explain how I intend to help to save the youth from drug addiction.
ā What do you think are the main reasons for youth to become addicted to drugs?
From my little understanding, I believe that the main reason why youths get themselves addicted to drugs is because they are not properly trained and most of them do that out of frustration thinking that it will solve their problems.
Just like smokers and drunken, they have this belief that once they have anything disturbing them, all they need to do is to take some drinks or smoke some weed in that way they can forget about the pain they are facing at the moment.
This is exactly the main reason why youth engage themselves in drug addiction. So drug addiction is a result of frustration or pain or problems faced by an individual who believes that taking drugs will help him or her with the problem.
ā What is the extent of drug addiction in your society? Do you think it's important to prevent drug addiction among youth?
Here in my community, the extent of drugs has become increasingly high among youths and this time they don't take them because they are facing any difficulties or problems they take them because they feel it is the standard.
Now drugs are taken among youth to show that they have the heart or the mind to take certain drugs. They go as far as combining many drugs to see the reaction and those who claim to have a strong head go for the drugs and they feel they have arrived for doing such an act.
Yes, it is important to prevent drug addiction among youth because most of them are wasting their lives at the moment with the drugs they take. I recommend that a policy be put in place where youths won't be allowed access to certain drugs.
ā How can you encourage them to make healthy choices and what steps do you think would be effective to save them?
The only means to save them is to create awareness of the effect of drugs on them always. Seminars or roadside shows should be held explaining to them what drugs can cause their lives and the reason they should avoid them.
The government should also try to provide good work for them because of they are busy they won't have time to go for drugs. In that way, the rate of drug addictions within your will reduce drastically.
