Concrete jungle dweller in nature

In the realm of concrete jungle, it often becomes hard to find greenery if you live in a city or town area. It becomes tiresome and boring to see those white and pink and blue and what not colour of cement and concrete. It feels suffocating and depressing.

However, I got lucky somehow when I moved to a new city in Bangladesh. I was looking for a rented house a few months back. So I kept seeing one house after another to find a rented house. Somehow all the houses I visited seemed somewhat dull or they did not meet my needs or the rent was too high. I was on the verge of losing hope and thought I would just settle down with any house I could find. Suddenly, as I decided to do so an acquaintance of mine called me and said that one of his acquaintances was looking for a tenant in a newly built house. I decided to give it a shot and visit the flat. I was not hoping for much. I visited and I was pleasantly surprised to see that just on the outskirt of the city there could be something like this! You can see from the picture what lies beyond my house. It is a paddy field!
The flat is quite small, but furnished with modern facilities which I require. As it is on the outskirts of the city, the rent is also affordable. So I decided to rent it with joy and that is so far probably the best decision I have taken in my life if I take the liberty to exaggerate a bit.

Laying on my bed, or through the window and balcony I can see the green paddy field leisurely swaying with the wind. It makes me feel so relaxed and calm to see it thus. As soon as evening comes, the frogs and crickets start to make their noise. I do not require fancy nature music to fall asleep. The natural sound lulls me to sleep every night.

Of course, it becomes difficult to commute every day to my workplace. But the compensation I get from nature is more valuable to me. I always imagined living like this– by the side of a river or a paddy field– and it is still like a dream come true that I live close to nature in this way.
