Greetings from me to everyone who reads my post this time, and this time I will write a Steemit Engagement Challenge season 10 week 6 contest, the theme I will raise is "Share your favorite meat recipe." created by Steem For Bangladesh community from @steem4bangladesh account with some questions asked:

I chose this beef rendang recipe because I really like rendang especially with its spicy taste and also has a distinctive taste image with a strong aroma of spices that make rendang a dish that is liked by many people, moreover I myself don't really like beef but if it's been processed with these spices I really like it because it doesn't smell too much of meat but it's been mixed with spices so it seeps a lot into the meat with the cooking process also being quite long

It has been so many years that beef rendang has shot its popularity around the world. The beef covered in dark colored spices escapes the eyes of world culinary lovers for a simple reason because of the very traditional characteristics of the seasoning. Moreover, in the aceh area, every Eid there is definitely a meugang day the day before Eid with the characteristic that people usually cook various kinds of meat dishes, one of which is beef rendang.

Here's a beef rendang recipe
For the ingredients are

  • 1 kg of beef
  • Salt and lime juice to taste to remove the fishy smell (you should add a little salt because beef absorbs salt quickly, the drier it is cooked, the more delicious the sauce will be because there is coconut milk)
  • 2000 ml of coconut milk from two coconuts

And for the spices as follows:

  • 18 shallots
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 18 curly red chilies
  • These 6 dry chilies are according to taste, if you want it spicier, you can add more
  • 1/2 part of nutmeg
  • A thumb of galangal
  • Turmeric to taste
  • 1 knuckle ginger

Untum stir-fry seasoning

  • 2 stalks of lemongrass, crushed to make the lemongrass taste more pronounced
  • 2 thumbs of galangal which is also crushed first
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 pieces of turmeric leaves
  • 20 pieces of finely chopped lime leaves
  • 4 cloves, 4 cardamom, 2 star anise and 2 cinnamon knuckles

How to cook :

  • the first step is to set the stove fire to medium small
  • The second step is to mix the meat that has been given salt and lime juice with the ground spices and stir-fry seasonings
  • Next, cook the meat until it releases water
  • And add coconut milk
  • After 1 hour of cooking, then add the finely chopped lime leaves to make it more fragrant
  • Correct the taste again, if necessary, add more salt to taste
  • Cook until the meat is tender and the coconut milk breaks the oil and boils
  • And after that cook until the sauce is dry according to taste (usually cook for 3 hours)
