Summertime!
"Panta Vaat" is a remarkable part of our tradition.
Keep your body as cool as possible to keep yourself healthy during this scorching hot summer. So everyone tries to eat more or less food that keeps the body cool. Today I want to talk about one such dish that speaks of Bengali heritage. And that is "panta rice". A lot can be said about Panta rice.
Many people like to eat Panta rice in this hot summer.

For those who don't know, the question may come to their mind what is panta rice?
Panta Bhat is the rice left over from the previous night soaked in water. Which becomes panta rice.
After cutting onion and pepper put it on a clay plate.
I have told a lot of definitions and history. Now let me tell you the story of eating panta rice. I also had panta rice for breakfast this summer. I felt so bad in the heat that I ate Panta rice without eating any other food.
Everything I took to eat panta rice.
- Panta rice soaked in water the night before.
- onion
- Green chilies
- Salt to taste
First I cut onions and green chillies and put them on a clay plate. Many people fry dry chilies and eat them with panta rice. It tastes different that way too. But I took green chilies today.
Rice soaked the night before.
I washed the Panta rice soaked in water the previous night well again lightly. Then I drained the excess water.
Shutki bhorta with panta rice, onions, and green chilies.
Time to knead everything.
Without further delay, I first seasoned the onions and chilies with salt and mixed them well with the panta rice. If you want, you can eat panta rice with as much water as you like. There was a lot of dry food with them. I'm so sorry I didn't take pictures when I was eating the meal. ha ha ha... Just kidding my Stemian friends.
