I hope all are fine. I am also fine by the grace of God. Today I am thrilled to participate in this fantastic contest organized by the honorable @ripon0630 in the @Steem4Bangladesh community. In the Labor Day Celebration Contest. Labor Day was initially observed on May 1st. And it is an international day. Labor Day is celebrated on May 1st in all countries of the world.
ā How is Labor Day celebrated in your country?
1st May is our country's holiday. All government offices in our country are closed on Labor Day. On Labor Day, our country celebrates this day with a slogan, "Worker-Owner Unity, Build Smart Bangladesh." On this day, our President and Prime Minister give individual motivational speeches to the workers of all levels of the country.
ā Are workers in your country getting fair wages? How is their life?
Our country is a developing country. So the maximum number of people in our country are workers. Therefore, the wages of workers in our country are meager. The per capita income of a worker in our country is USD 3089 in the fiscal year 2022-2023. On the other hand, the per capita income of a citizen of the rich country of Monaco is 185741 US dollars. The income of our workers is meager. So, it is straightforward to understand that the workers of our country are not getting their fair value. Because the per capita income is so low, our workers cannot fulfill all their desires even if they want to. They lead an elementary life. I have often seen laborers do human chain to get their fair price.
ā Is any particular event organized in your community on Labor Day? Do you participate in them?
Yes, there are special events organized in my community for Labor Day. And I attend the ceremony. All members of our community are closed on Labor Day. And we all celebrate the day by cutting a cake.
ā Share your inspiring ideas to honor workers' contributions in your community.
Workers make an enormous contribution to the development of society. We can enjoy our life so beautifully because of workers' work. Different types of people work in every workplace in our society. Just as there are high-ranking officials in the society, there are also workers. Everyone working equally makes the country progress. Workers should get the same respect a government official or a mayor gets in a city. But that doesn't happen in our society. It is deplorable. You have made your city dirty, but every morning you wake up and find the city clean. We do not look well on those who do this clean. Our city and world are beautiful because of the work of people from all these levels. The fact that you live in a luxury house, drive a luxury car, and eat expensive food is the sweat of countless workers. How many workers have died to make you enjoy this life of luxury? So, we should love and respect every worker in every sector of society. We are all workers.
Let us love, respect, and give workers their fair value.
