📢 Contest - What is your opinion on whether charity should be done publicly or secretly?

Assalamu alaikum my Steemian friends. Wishing you all a very happy Ramadan. Today I will participate in a beautiful contest organized by @ripon0630, the respected admin of the Steem for Bangladesh community. The main issue is whether charity should be done publicly or secretly. Charity work is definitely a good thing to do. And in this month of Ramadan, its virtues are many. I know the importance of this. I will share with you my opinion about my charity.

✅ What is your opinion on whether charity should be done publicly or secretly?

Caring and being compassionate towards a helpless person is a central part of Islam. Al-Qur'an mentions that feeding the poor and needy, helping orphans, relatives, travelers, and spending in the way of God are important for every Muslim. Therefore, a Muslim feels the suffering of others and desires for others the same comfort and good life that he desires from Allah for himself, hence giving charity to ease the suffering of others is a natural response.

Now if we want to talk about whether this charity should be done publicly or secretly, we must first know what Islam says. I think it is important to have the idea of the donor whether it should be done openly or secretly, whatever the rules. Donations can be made openly or privately. However, in this case there is a slight difference in the reward of the person against the donation. For example: Al Qur'an says, "If you give openly, it is good, and if you do it secretly, it is better for you and your sins will be forgiven." [[Surah Baqarah: Ayat 271] So Allah Ta'ala has called us to give charity publicly as well as giving it in secret is better. But when it comes to my opinion, I always donate privately. To get the double satisfaction of Allah Ta'ala. Because donation is like this, even if you give with one hand, the other hand should not feel it. Therefore, I think it is better to give charity in secret, it increases the way of salvation and sins are forgiven.

✅ Why do you think that this way of doing charity should be adopted?

I think giving charity is the best thing. Donation means giving one's wealth for the welfare of people for the sake of Allah. Islam has clearly stated that we should give charity only for the pleasure of Allah. And for this reward will be given by Allah. Because if charity is done for any purpose other than attaining the pleasure of Allah, then Allah Ta'ala will not give us any result of this donation in the Hereafter.

Also another important teaching is that if a person speaks harshly or harshly to the receiver of the donation, he will not get anything in return for this donation. Because if our intention is to gain the pleasure of Allah then any believer will refrain from such abominable deeds. I think he should be treated well without giving charity rather than suffering instead of giving charity. He should not suffer in lieu of charity. Because our only purpose in charity is to gain Allah's pleasure.

✅ Is there any benefit or social impact to charity in this way?

Charity plays an important social role as it is beneficial to human life. We enjoy its benefits in different aspects. Charity is not only for the poor or the needy but also has an impact on the poor. I presented to you various donations regarding its social impact:

• Zakat is considered one of the most important areas of charity in Islam. Which in Islam is a duty of every Muslim person. Thus millions of poor and needy people are benefited by Zakat every year and it is also considered as a part of charity in Islam.

• When the people of the country voluntarily donate money for the sake of the security of the people of the country, it is also a kind of donation that the living standards of the people of the country are increasing as a result of the donation by the wealthy.

• Helping helpless people affected by natural calamities with money or things is also a donation.

• When the rich people of the society build any non-profit building like mosque, madrassa, school, college, orphanage, old age home etc. in different areas, it is also considered as donation.

In short, the above points do not only do charity work, but also have social implications. These donations are considered as donations in the way of Allah for the welfare of people for the sake of attaining Allah's pleasure. The social development of a country continues in this.

✅ Who should be prioritized for charity?

For charity I think one should give preference to one's own or relatives. Because if you give to your people, you will get double reward. Because in addition to receiving the reward of donation, the rights of relatives are fulfilled. Neighbors are next to relatives because they also have rights over me. We should help our neighbors no matter what their religion is. But first of all we should claim the right of charity from our people. But if they are financially sound then any poor or needy neighbor who should give that donation will be benefited a lot. In such cases, I think the one who needs more should be given priority.

In this case, my Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said about the priority in giving charity, "If you give charity to the poor, it will be considered as a charity only. But giving alms to a poor relative has a double reward, one of charity and the other of maintaining good relations with the relatives.
