At first wish you all a very happy new year 2023. How was my 31st? Did I celebrate? Well, as you know I'm a boring kind of person and hardly celebrate special days. But my hostel celebrate it by bringing cake and special food with the money they collect from us. We paid 200BDT each member, its 14 steem approximately.
I had awesome and yummy foods but didn't capture any photo of food and just ate, brought my new dresses from tailor as I sent cloths for stitching last week. I did my regular online jobs on time too. I took no leave. It was very cold winter day here and my hands were freezing in this cold. I took shower in the afternoon because at that time water was warm to take a shower.
Actually I went for a important task for an hour and when done I took photos. I walk a long way. I bought first foods to eat and also fruit. I bought a slice of papaya and local popular snacks available as street food. I had no excitement of new year because my life is as usual it is. There is no big change or something adventurous happen in my life for long time. But still the day could be marked as a special day and can include the day in my diary because this is the last day of 2022.
Time flies so faster, in my childhood time was not as faster as it seems to me now. A busy life makes us feel like this way. I think the opposite side of passing a year though most of the people celebrate and welcome a new year. I feel bad because another year has passed from our life. We are a step ahead to our end of life. I know very few of us think this way and celebrate the new year in a grand way.
Flower shops were open on this occasion to kick up business. Flowers get good sell in special day celebration specially when it is national and international. Those fresh flowers insisted me to take photos and I found a good old man was selling flowers and helped me on taking photos by giving permission.
It was new 11:30 am when I was there to take photos. These flower shops also take contract of flower decoration for events and functions. This kind of business has good demand in cities like ours because here flower decoration for each events is very common and we are celebration loving nation though I found myself exception to it.
Most of the decoration flowers these days has no natural smell that we love. When I was passing flower shops in a raw, I felt no smell of flowers even roses were scentless , can you imagine? I think flower farmers or flower sellers use chemical to make flower alive for long time and as a result it lost the natural fragrance of it.
Thought I'm not sure about the story behind this. Chemical using is very common for fruits, flowers, fishes and other raw materials to store them for long time. Anyway, my visit to the flower shop was a nice experience of the last day of 2022. I've capture many photos but I choose these to make it the part of my diary.
I was tired and went to the dining to take my lunch after the prayers of noon. There the hostel manager asking me if I'm available for helping on decoration I replied a straight NO and I had a panic attack but I didn't show it. I got panic because when I paid the money they charge I told that I have important tasks for the day in the morning and later I'll spend time for online tasks but the woman asked me for joining decoration task and when I deny she made a bad comment about people who replied NO to her.
We pay money for each things we use in the hostel but still the manager woman try to dominate everyone including me. She has a group to disturb other girls too. And this is not the first time, since the beginning I've experienced her irresponsibility and sake of peace tried to ignore it. So I behaved myself and didn't reply anything back and tried to control my panic mood.
Later in the evening when I praise their decoration and asked for take photos of it, the assistant woman of the hostel manager told the people helped them in decoration can take photos only and I laughed because it was a good joke and I took it as a joke to make the thing normalize. After 12 am when they cut the cake they ordered I went to join. The cake was already distributed and I couldn't take the photo of cake for reaching there late.
Overall the day was good enough though I had health issues at midnight and slept after 2 am and it was only few hours that I slept at night. Wish for a blessed year 2023 for all of us.
