Among the 163 tea gardens located in different parts of Bangladesh, there are three largest tea gardens from which the amount of tea production is worth mentioning. Srimangal, with an area of 450 km, can be called the tea capital of Bangladesh. The breathtaking beauty of several tea gardens draws tourists to this area. Tea plantations for miles seem to carpet the hillsides with green. The best-quality tea in Bangladesh is produced in Srimangal.

In the morning, we ate breakfast at Shatkora Restaurant in Srimangal. After breakfast, we went to the Varaura Tea Garden by rickshaw. It didn't take us long to go to the tea garden from College Road. We took a rickshaw to explore the entire garden through the road in the middle of the tea garden. We have seen many beautiful wildflowers and small hilly rivers called 'Chora' or 'Jhiri' on the way.

The beauty of the high and low hill tea gardens of Srimangal Upazila will refresh your mind as much as drinking tea. Heading south through the Tea Research Institute (BTRI) near Srimangal, you'll find Finlay Tea Company's Gardens, BTRI's garden. Varaura Tea Garden is one of them. The new buds and leaves of the tea plant look very beautiful and smooth during monsoons. A vast area seems to be covered with a huge green carpet. Sometimes, there are some big trees that protect the tea plant from the hot sun. Harsh sunlight is also harmful to tea plants.

Tea is exported to meet the country's needs, earning a lot of foreign currency. This tea is produced from two leaves and one bud. Generally, tea plants grow in lowlands to relatively high plains and small hills and their foothills. Tea plant production starts about five years after planting. The tea plant is cut and kept within four to five feet. If it is bigger, then it does not produce a good yield, and the collection of leaves also becomes difficult.
