Every flower is very divine to us flower lovers. Today, I am going to discuss with you a flower that really shows a different beauty in the garden; the name of the flower is the Dianthus flower. This is one of the most beautiful and colourful flowers. We may all know the flower but not the name. This flower is a native plant of Asia & Europe. Dianthus is actually the name of a genus of flowers that includes about 300 flowering plants. Dianthus belongs to the plant family Caryophyllaceae.

Its leaves are arranged like beautiful leaves around the liner and stem. This flower comes in many colours - red, purple, white, pink, purple, mixed etc. The flowers have 5-7 petals, and each petal has asymmetrical teeth at the tip. Common names for dianthus include pinks, carnations, and sweet williams. This wonderful cut flower has a long lifespan of 7 to 21 days.

The plant was named after Theophrastus, a Greek botanist. The name of this flower, ''Dianthus,'' comes from the Greek words Dios, 'divine' and Anthus, meaning 'flower'. Dianthus is a beautiful cut flower, sweetly scented. The Dianthus flower has a wide colour palette, which further enhances its beauty. It has a sweet aroma. Cultivation of this flower has been going on since the 1500s century.

Dianthus is commonly known as a biennial plant. It lives for two years, but it also can be considered an annual because it can self-seed so easily. Many dianthus species are short-lived, lasting only a few years.

Dianthus plants are used to make medicine. It is used in various treatments for fever, stomach problems and heart problems. It is a great source of essential oils and is also used to treat symptoms of stress and depression. It has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine to treat digestive problems. It has also been used to improve and stimulate the digestive system, urinary tract, and intestines. It is used for improving the treatment of eyes. It is also used for various skin treatments.

Most dianthus flowers can grow easily in a variety of conditions. Full sun is best for this flower, but prefers more mid-summer sun. They begin to flower singly or in small clusters in mid-summer. Flowering occurs in late spring. Mild re-bloom is observed during the summer months. We need to take good care of them for more flowering. This flowering plant requires well-drained soil for its good growth. From one plant to another, the distance should be 6 to 12 inches so that air can pass easily through them. Dead flower heads should be removed, and weeds should be weeded regularly.
