Hello everyone. Welcome to Graffiti Of My City Contest No. 29 hosted by @slon21veka. The contest post can be found here. Do read up about this and join us in this exciting contest.
For this week, I am a little bit late for submission but hopefully I can still make the deadline. I still continue to post about the graffiti on the perimeter wall of the Davao City National High School along F. Torres Street, Davao City, Philippines. My last four participations to this contest are all from this wall. Hopefully, after this, just one more post to finish the street art in this school's wall.
For this No. 29, I will show graffiti or paintings of old and young tribal women in our island, Mindanao. These are the Manobos and the Mandayas. The photo below shows an old woman with beaded earrings.
The next photo below is of a young girl member of the tribe.
The two paintings above are actually found in one section of the wall. This part is towards the end already, far from the entrance of the school, which probably explains why there is less maintenance and taller grass along the wall. The grass almost covers half of the wall already.
Another elder tribeswoman with a younger one beside her. See below.
And another young girl. Notice how the concrete plaster have already fallen off leaving only just a small portion of the painting left. No maintenance. Too bad.
Hopefully, after Covid, the school can upgrade and facelift the wall. It is too sad to think that such beautiful art can just be left to delapidate and fade into oblivion.
I invite @long888, @kneelyrac and @olivia08 to join this contest. I hope they can. See you.
That's all for now. Good luck to all the participants. Keep safe everyone and may you all have a great week ahead.
