Steem Plants Contest Week 13

Apart from being a necessary aspect of life on earth, plants also have an aesthetic purpose - They beautify our environment.

Hello wonderful Steemians,

Today I will be heeding the call of @knopka145 in her renowned Steem Plants Contest to herald and talk about plants that we have close to us.

First of all, here is a beautiful picture to welcome you... Yes, feel free to breathe it in... I know I did...

The plant above is a young palm tree. I am not much familiar with its breed, but I do know that there are two major types of palm trees in my country - The Palm Tree that produces oil palm, which is a key staple food in these parts, and the Coconut Tree that produces coconuts, which also is a major food item here too. I know there is a third type, the one that tends not to produce any fruits at all. While growing up, we called it a male Coconut Tree (ditto its inability to produce), and I have a strong feeling we were very wrong with that classification.

Anyway, they all look alike and I usually tend to confuse one for the other. However, I love the way this one simply beautifies the front of my workplace. Yes, this one is located right in front of my office, within the company building.
