Understanding Curation and Community
I'm really excited to complete my last achievement. This is one of the important topics that I learned by these achievements.
Voting and Curation
Curating is the way to reward good contents on Steemit. Steem blockchain has its own tokens. Its a DPoS based (Delegated Proof of Stake) blockchain. It means 21 witnesses (who are voted by steem users) produces block every 3 seconds. In 63 seconds circle every witness produces one block. The block reward is divided like this-
65% of the new tokens- To the reward pool.
15% of the new tokens- To the holders of SP.
10% of the new tokens- To witnesses to power the
blockchain.
10% of the new tokens- SPS/Steem DAO
When someone upvotes a post/comment, he distributes a certain amount of tokens from the reward pool to the author. He also receives 50% of the distributed tokens. But he will receive less than 50% of the distributed token if he votes in 5 minutes after the post is published.

Voting Mana: Voting mana is to limit the voting power. Voting mana is consumed when someone votes a post. For votes with 100% weight, 2% of the remaining mana will be consumed. If you have 100% voting mana and your vote's weight is 100%, 2% of the total mana will be consumed. If you have 98% mana and your vote's weight is 100%, 1.96% of the total mana will be consumed. 20% of the total mana is refilled everyday. So, one can upvote with 100% weight more than 10 times a day.
Downvote: One can also downvote posts. It has its separate voting mana which is 25% of the upvote mana.
One can change his voting wight with slider when he has more than 500 SP.

Steem Witness
As I mentioned earlier witnesses play an important role in Steem blockchain by producing blocks. I will vote for @steemchiller cause the dapp developed by him is my favorite one.
Community
Community is the place where people of same taste meet each other. Similarly Steemit has some active communities. I joined World of Xpilar which supports creative contents. I also joined Steem Bangladesh, the community of my country. I'm in some other communities also.
