Basic Security On Steemit
There are 4 different keys and a master password. And there is also a public key and a private key for the operation of Tron account.
In this post, I will answer all the questions that are necessary for Achievement 2 .
Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on Steemit ?
- Yes ! I have retrieved all my keys on Steemit. And I have stored them in my Google Drive and I have also written all those keys in my personal diary as well. So that they all remain secure and also store offline.
Question 2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions ?
- Yes of course, I have spent a lot of time on SteemIt and I know the functions and restrictions of each key very well.
So let's take a quick look :
Posting Key – This key is used for posting, commenting, voting, editing a post or comment, upvoting or downvoting , Follow or Mute accounts and To resteem content.
Active Key – This key is used to transfer Steem tokens, Power up or Power down , Converting SBD to steem , Vote for witness , To change profile and cover photo, To create a new user , to delegate steem power and creating a market order .
Owner Key – Owner key is the most important key. This key is used for Reset other keys ; Posting Key , Active Key etc. , To recover the account . It should be stored offline .
Memo Key – This key is used for sending an encrypted message and viewing an encrypted message .
Tron Account Public Key – This key is public . This key is used for transfers.
Tron Account Private Key – This private key has the highest authority on your TRON account. This key is used for transfering tokens, freezing and voting TRX.
Master Password – The master password is most important . You should save your master password and keep it somewhere safe. It is used to derive all keys for your account, including the owner key. If You lost your Master password or someone has access to your master password, He can steal your account.
Question 3
How do you plan to keep your Master Password safe ?
- This is simple . When I created my account on Steemit, only then with the advice of my friend , I wrote it in my personal diary. And I have secured the master password with all the keys of SteemIt as their PDF and saved it in my Google Drive and in PenDrive. And for quick actions I have saved master password and keys in my mobile notes.
Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your Steem token to another Steem user account ?
- Yes, I know how I can transfer my Steem Token to other Steem user account. There are few simple steps .
Step 1. Go to your wallet .
Step 2.Then click on your steem tokens, And then click on Transfer.
Step 3. Then Enter the Steem user name to whom you want to send the steem tokens.
After this write the amount of steem tokens you want to transfer.
Then if you have to give a message , you can add it. Then click on Next.
Step 4.– That operation requires your Active Key . So type your active key and then Sign In
Now your steem tokens have been transferred to another steem user account.
Question 5
Do you know how to power up your Steem?
- Yes, it is also simple. There are some simple steps for this as well.
Step 1. First Go to your wallet. Then Click on your Steem. And Then Click on POWER UP
Step 2. Then write the amount of Steem you want to power up. And Then Click On Power Up.
Step 3. For Confirm transfer to vesting , Click On Ok
Now your Steem is Power Up.
