PLAGIARISM

It can be define as the act of copying another person's work and presenting it as your own work, i.e presenting someone's work without proper acknowledgement of the author.

Collins English Dictionary postulated that to plagiarize means:

the practice of using or copying someone else's idea or work and pretending that you thought of it or created it.source

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

DIRECT PLAGIARISM: This kind of plagiarism can be define as the one where the culprit stealing someone's work and presented it exactly the way it is as it's own.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM: This happens when someone copies a work online, or in the net and doesn't remember to cite the owner.

SELF PLAGIARISM: This happens when the owner of a particular source or work, steal and recycles it to use instead of creating a new work.

COMPLETE PLAGIARISM: It's happens when a person submit or should i say tries to submit another person's work without proper citation of the work.

SOURCE-BASE PLAGIARISM: This can happen when someone is being involve in a case of misleading source(s) of said work(s).

HOW TO CITE A SOURCE

A well cited article or work involves the addition of the link of the source to the particular source content. if someone's work is being used, then the link should be placed immediately after the text or picture with the appropriate mark down style.

This means, newbies like @edidiongeffiong, understanding the basic knowledge of the production of original and quality content shared on Steemit blockchain. There are variety of contents that can be shared on the platform, that's legal, ranging from videos, pictures, songs, quotes, memes etc.

SUMMARY

Plagiarism be it direct, accidental, self, complete or source-base should be avoided.

Because it shows how unserious the plagiarist is.
