This post is for everyone, whether you are a new user or an expert user who wants to refresh your knowledge. Let's get into the details and see how this incredible platform works!
Steemit is a social media platform that uses the Steem Blockchain. Steemit's security system is one of its key features.

It is designed to protect user accounts as well as prevent unauthorized access. This blog post will provide a detailed look at how to add SteemPower (SP), to your Steemit account.

Steemit Keys

To secure your Steemit account, you will need to use four types of keys:

  1. Owner key: This key is essential for Steemit accounts as it gives you full control of the account and all its assets. It is
important to keep the private owner key secret as anyone who has access to it can make changes to your account,
such as transferring funds or changing account settings.
  2. Active key: This key has additional permissions that allow for sensitive monetary operations such as token exchange
and transfer. Your Active key may be used to authenticate while performing a wallet-related transaction. Anyone with
access to your Active key can steal your tokens. Therefore, only trust apps should have your Active Key. Do not lose
tickets by storing this key securely.
  3. Posting key: This key can be used for social networking operations like commenting, voting, and posting. This key is
restricted and cannot be used to make monetary transactions. This key cannot be used to make money. This key can
be used to log into other social networks such as Steemit and Busy. This key should be kept safe.
  4. Memo key - The Memo key is unique. Only the Memo Key can encrypt or decrypt private messages sent to it via
blockchain. This feature could be very powerful in the future, but it is rarely used. You should only use the Memo Key
if you want to translate private communications you have received.

Not only are these four keys important, but there are also "public" keys that correspond to each key. These public keys can be shared with others, but they do not allow access to your account nor permit anyone to make changes. It's better to keep your account private if you require more organization and clarity.

Adding Steem Power:
Steem Power (SP) measures an account's influence and reputation on Steemit. An account's Steem Power measures how influential and popular it is on Steemit. It also determines how much weight the version has in votes and how significant that influence will be to the platform. You can add Steem Power to your account in many ways:

  1. Powering up: You can add Steem Power to your account by "powering down" STEEM tokens. You convert STEEM into
SP when you power up. This is usually for 13 weeks. You can reverse this process by "powering down," allowing you
to convert your SP into STEEM after a 13-week wait period. Here are the steps to power up Steem.
    • Click on the "Wallet tab" in the top menu to access your profile and Steemit wallet.
    final 1.jpg
    • Click on the "STEEM" tab to the right of the page. There, you will see the button "Power Up".
    final 2.jpg
    • In the "Amount" column, enter the Steem amount you want to use.
    • To start the power-up process, click the "Power Up" button.
    final 3.jpg
    • You will be asked to enter your activation or owner keys to complete the transaction.
  2. Transfer Steem: Another way to increase Steem Power in your account is to delegate it from another account. The
statement that delegated SP to another account retains control, but the recipient account can vote and earn rewards.
The original owner can "undelegated" charged SP at any time. You will need the Steemit wallet to transfer Steem
Power or Steem Steem (SP) to the Steemit platform. This tutorial will show you how to transfer Steem or SP.
    • Click on the "Wallet tab" in the top menu to access your profile and Steemit wallet.
    final 1.jpg
    • Click on the "STEEM" tab to the right of the page. There will be the "Transfer" button.
    final 4.jpg
    • Enter the username or account number of the person to whom you wish to send the Steem/SP in the "To"
    section.
    • Enter the Steem/SP amount you wish to send in the "Amount" field. The drop-down menu beside the "Amount"
field allows you to specify the currency, such as STEEM or SP.
    • You can add an optional message to the transfer in the "Memo" field.
    final 5.jpg
    • To initiate the transfer, click the "Next" button.
    • To complete the transaction, you will be asked to enter your activation or owner key, depending on how much
Steem or SP are being transferred.
  3. Buying Steem Power: Steem Power can be added to your account through open-market purchases from Steemit
    users and cryptocurrency exchanges.
The security system on Steemit was designed to protect user accounts and prevent unauthorized access to funds. It
works with four keys: owner key, activation, posting, and memo keys. These keys should not be shared. You can add
Steem Power to your account by powering up STEEM tokens or delegating SP from another version.
As I've thoroughly researched and described the functions of my Steemit keys and their restrictions, I've completed
achievement 2. My keys are safe and secure. I am confident that my tokens can be transferred to other users and that
my Steem Power will work. As I explained in previous steps, it is easy to move tickets and charge Steem Power. I'm
confident and secure in my ability to navigate Steemit. Here's my verified Achievement 1 post.
