Achievement 5 Task 4 by @jmsthree : Review steemdb.io

Hi fellow newcomers. Today I will present my review of steemdb.io for my final task of achievement 5.

Steemdb.io

At first glance, this site is going to be a nice location for metrics. On the home page you will immediately see the current Steem price vs BTC from a Poloniex chart. Perhaps the most intersting metric on this page is the 30 Day MVest Distribution. Here you can see that two thirds have been distributed to the curators and authors while the remaining third is distributed to commenters, paid interest and witnesses. So reading into this, it seems the most lucrative way to earn on the Steemit platform is to curate or post good content as an author.

Continuing on down the homepage, you can view the most recent block activity including the last blocked minted as well as the current block with the corresponding blocks waiting consensus. This will give you some idea of the activity that occurs on the Steem blockchain. Statistacal data is also listed down the right hand side of the page regarding areas such as Network Performance, the Reward Pool and its Global Properties.

Accounts

Browsing across the menu bar, Accounts is the next option that you can select. This area gives you another place to discover more account rankings. The default ranking is by richlist but a dropdown menu exisits where you can rank the richlist by Vests/SP, SBD, Steem, or Power Down. So if you are curious about who owns the most of each, this is where you would come to find wealthy steemians. Other ways you can rank accounts is by Posts (to see who has the most posts), by Social status (to see who has the most followers or value of followers) and by best Reputation.

Posts

Continuing with the ranking theme, the next option to rank are Posts. These are sorted by either Top Earning or Most Votes. This would be a good place to investigate what type of content the top creators are posting to garner their ranking and use that to your advantage when creating your posts.

Witnesses

Next are a ranking of witnesses and in the top 3 listed below are two familiar users/witnesses @steemchiller and @justyy. These are 2 users that have helped create content for us new steemians to learn about the Steemit platform as we complete our tasks.

Witnesses

You can also look at this information from a Historical Prespective or at who had the most Misses. These are the users/supporters of the Steem blockchain that make sure the minting of blocks keeps the blockchain progressing, without them there would be no Steemit platform. I would consider it a proud accomplishment to be ranked on this list.

Labs

Lastly this seems to be an experimental test bed, where new developers can test new projects for Steemit. Here you will see a list of active experiments and API's. If you are a developer this is where you could actively try out new ideas and test them before they become an offical part of the Steemit platform.

This concluded my 4 tasks for achievement 5. Thanks to all the developers who create useful tools to be successful on this platform. To the attention of @cryptokannon @steemcurator03
