Have a blessed day to all steemians around the world. especially to all newcomers in the community. Hope you enjoy and love the steemit platform. Today I want to make my achievement 3 task by @cryptokannon which is the " Content Etiquette ". I will discuss in my post what is plagiarism and the different type of plagiarism. How I understood the content etiquette of steemit.

" Proof of Brain " Concept

As I read the concept about Steem blue paper I get a knowledge that Steem will provide a scalable blockchain protocol for publicly accessible and immutable content, along with a fast and fee-less digital token called STEEM which enables people to earn the currency by using their brain what can be called “Proof-of-Brain”. It positions STEEM as a tool for building perpetually growing communities, which encourage
their members to add value to the community through the built-in rewards structure. Source

What is Plagiarism?

It is getting or using someone else work and ideas without crediting the content to the owner. It is also a representation of the author's ideas, thoughts, and language as our original works.
According to Oxford English Dictionary, plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else work or ideas and passing them off as one's concept or ideas.
Putting up with someone else's work and submitting it as completely your own.
Indeed, plagiarism is stealing one's ideas and work from others without asking permission from the owner or without giving a credit to the owner.

What are the different types of plagiarism?

There are several types of plagiarism but we must name the most popular plagiarism in social media.

  • Direct plagiarism
  • Self-plagiarism
  • Mosaic plagiarism
  • Accidental plagiarism

What is Direct plagiarism?

In this type of plagiarism, we are copying the content word-for-word transcription of other works. We copied everything their ideas and content of their post.

What is Self Plagiarism?

This occurs when you have already submitted your works to the admin or the professor and someone will reuse your work without the permission of the professor. This may be considered also self-plagiarism.

What is Mosaic Plagiarism?

It occurs when a beginner borrows phrases from a source without using citation marks. Or even finds synonyms for the author's language but maintains the same general arrangement and meaning of the content.

What is Accidental Plagiarism?

This will happens when you fail to cite their sources or misquotes them. Unintended paraphrasing or grouping of words that match some other source may also fall under this plagiarism. Cases of accidental plagiarism are taken as seriously as any other plagiarism.

Significances of plagiarism

Plagiarism is considered an offense that we commit upon using or stealing someone's work.
If you plagiarize some works, there a possibility that you destroy your reputation as an individual author. It gives you low rates or rewards and maybe they will make downvote of your content in the community.

How to Avoid Plagiarism

We need to ensure that when we make a quality content post we need to use our photos and write our idea and concept of every topic we have to share on the steemit platform. If ever we have a post that needs an image from others or on the internet, we must put an image source or content source of our post.
We can also use the free images that some websites provided us for free. This is the link that we can use free images

I found out that there many do and don'ts on steemit platforms. As I read the steemit Etiquette I understand that we have a big role in the community. We are not just posting our content but also having a part of it. We must also do commenting and curating other's user posts.
