Hello steemians, I hope everyone is doing great. I am Sahil, I have completed my Achievement 5 task 4- Review SteemBD.io. So today I'm going to submit my Achievement 6 Task: Understanding Curation and Community with inspired by @cryptokannon's post. So let's get started...

In this post, I will explain Curation and Community as per my understanding.

How Voting and Curation Works On Steemit?

Curation is a reward from voting. Curation is earned when you vote the good content. So we can say that Curation and Voting are interconnected where voting is the primary function to earn Curation rewards. Voting on posts at steemit is as simple as liking the post on social platforms like Facebook, Twitter etc. You can cast your vote at the bottom of the post. The Green arrow is for Upvote, and the Red arrow is for the Downvote, use your votes wisely.

It is a big responsibility to use your vote on a good post Because you cannot upvote every post as it affects your Voting Mana. Every 100% Vote you cast will deduct 2% of your voting mana. But it also recharges with 20% every day. So I would say that ten times vote in a day is good enough; however, you can vote more than ten times, but on your every vote, your votes will carry less influence. For example, A vote with 75% voting mana left will be worth 3/4 as much as a vote cast with 100% voting mana. You can check your voting mana on steemworld.org and steemscan.com.

I'm a new user so that I can vote only at 100% voting strength; however, once we reach at 5000 Steem Power. We will see a vote slider appear when you vote. The slider lets you change the strength of your vote. You can adjust it based on how much you like each post and how many times you want to vote each day.

Curation reward is quite easy to understand. The distributing of the rewards is 50% of the payout goes to the author of the post/comment, and 50% goes to the curator.

What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?

The split of the 50% that the curator receives during the first 5 minutes is calculated linearly based on the time the vote is cast.

Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?

The STEEM blockchain requires a set of people to create blocks and uses a consensus mechanism called Delegated Proof of Stake. Anyone willing to contribute to the Blockchain may become a Witness however they must be elected through votes made by the Steemit Community. The people delegated to create blocks are called or referred to as witnesses.

In my personal opinion, I would like to vote for @steemchiller and @justyy who are the developers of SteemWorld.org and Steemyy.com respectively. It's because these steem tools are in use of my daily steem blogging. I gather information about my account almost daily.

Which community will you join in Steemit, and why?

There are several communities that I have joined in steemit. In witch, members post very good content. I went through some other communities, as mentioned by @cryptokannon in her post.
