The roots of the sport can be traced to ancient Greece, China, and India, and it is closely related to the old children's game battledore and shuttlecock. Badminton is derived directly from Poona, which was played by British army officers stationed in India in the 1860s. Therefore, we find the rise of badminton in the military, and badminton is much played for having it funny, and to get pleasure. And some are also playing it to win national and/or international competitions!

The aim of badminton is to hit the shuttle with your racket so that it passes over the net and lands inside your opponent's half of the court. Whenever you do this, you have won a rally; win enough rallies, and you win the match. Your opponent has the same goal. You can use a smash, for instance a hard smash or a forehand smash to win the point in question in relation to your opponent! And this is of course when you are playing to win a match or the whole game in badminton. When playing it for purposeful aims, there need not be any points to count when playing badminton. And much research and many frequency tables are just surrounded by the facts of what we can count as humans, and what this means for us!

What kinds of clues should be used when playing badminton? You can think about the ways thinking is when playing games, and when there is a winner and a loser of the game. In badminton, the following clues are important:

 Control the base position.
 Work on fluency in footwork.
 Limit your opponents' options.
 Master spinning net shots.
 Deceptive hold and flick from the net.
 Learn your opponents' habits.
 Don't give away free points.

Which laws are used to play badminton? What should you think of to win, and to be given precision with doing your best possible performance?

 A match consists of the best of 3 games of 21 points.
 Every time there is a serve – there is a point scored.
 The side winning a rally adds a point to its score.
 At 20 all, the side which gains a 2 point lead first, wins that game.
 At 29 all, the side scoring the 30th point, wins that game.
 The side winning a game serves first in the next game.

Therefore, there are some logic on how to win the games and the match, and how this is done. The behavior of playing, you determine yourself, but there is importance with winning the points, and there is much competition in local, national and international areas about what to do and how to win as many matches as possible in badminton!

Badminton takes its name from Badminton House - home of the Duke of Beaufort in the English county of Gloucestershire. Early on, the game was also known as Poona or Poonah after the garrison town of Poona, where it was particularly popular and where the first rules for the game were drawn up in 1873. By 1875, officers returning home had started a badminton club in Folkestone.

Nowadays, badminton can be played as singles or doubles.
