"Photos of feathered friends" contest. The blue-breasted peacock.🦚

As a lover of nature and therefore of birds, feathered beings, it is difficult to take a picture of them, as they are restless and at the slightest movement they leave the site. I took this beautiful photo when the bird was resting and at a certain distance and in total silence so as not to alter the behavior of the animal.

Admirer of this exotic bird, possessor of great beauty, it is a blue-breasted peacock, showy colors that it has in its plumage. Among the characteristics that stand out the most are: the strong beak, its head is covered with blue feathers with a sort of topknot that makes it look elegant. The neck and chest are greenish blue with metallic shades, the wings are green and black with feathers that resemble scales, the tail, when opened is similar to a fan, with a figure of spots that look like eyes in shades of gold, blue and green. They make a ki-wao sound, which they repeat constantly.

They feed on seeds, fruits, plants, insects, frogs and other small reptiles. Despite their size they can make short flights to perch on tree branches and spend the night.

I took this photo in the natural spaces of the Antigua Misión Hotel, in San Felipe, Yaracuy State, Venezuela.
