It's a pleasure to participate in a contest like Steamplant. This is a great service for us. It is a very valuable fact that we can learn about unknown plant species and know more new special facts about known plant species.

Anthurium as a native plant
South America will be considered. This anthurium plant is a group of plants belonging to the genus Araceae. Some species of plants are grown for beautiful leaves and some species of plants for colorful flowers. Anthurium flowers and leaves are widely used for decoration especially during festivals.

There are many types of anthurium flowers. These vary from one to the other. For example, the color of the flower, the length and width of the leaf are different.

Many of these anthurium flower varieties are bred using different hormones. These names are the ones that resulted there.

This species of anthurium flowers will grow well in dry and humid climates. But both too much sunlight and too much cold will hinder the spread of a flower. Anthurium is suitable for cultivation up to 4000 feet from sea level. Furthermore, red and orange colored anthurium can be grown successfully in areas with cold climate and this anthurium cultivation can be done successfully in shaded places in wet zone. Pink anthurium is a low-maintenance anthurium that can be grown in dry areas.

_{Any location chosen to plant anthurium flowers is most important to be a place with a little dim light. And for this, the presence of shade between 70% and 75% is more valuable. Generally, when planting anthurium plants, our mothers use a place where the plant gets shade from a large tree. It is important to have leaves on that tree every day of the year. Coconut tree, jam tree and Pihimbia tree are suitable for this. And those who do the cultivation as a business provide shade and dim light to the plants through artificial nets. Generally, an anthurium plant takes about 6 months to bloom.}

Anthurium flower plants will not grow properly in a waterlogged land or a land with slow drainage. A drainage system should be prepared to remove water from those places. If anthurium cultivation is carried out especially for sale, the plants should be planted in raised beds from the ground level.}
