Club5050 Contest Steem Plants Week 18 - In Life As In Art

Hi everyone. I'm back with my entry to week 18 of this awesome challenge, the Club5050 Steem Plants Contest hosted by @strawberrry. Read up about this contest here and hopefully you can join us in the fun. Invite your friends too.

My daughter in Germany recently visited Switzerland. While there she went to Geneva and ventured inside the Geneva Botanical Garden. She took numerous pictures of the different plants and flowers there and quite a few are worth sharing in this contest, which I will be doing in the weeks to come. So for this Week, I will share with you the first flower that caught my interest. I became interested in it because in a recent art exhibit I attended, an artist painted the same flower using watercolors and they looked beautiful.

First off, let me share the real flower as captured by may daughter in the Geneva Botanical Garden.

This is called the Pitcher Plant.

Pitcher plants are several different carnivorous plants which have modified leaves known as pitfall traps—a prey-trapping mechanism featuring a deep cavity filled with digestive liquid. The traps of what are considered to be "true" pitcher plants are formed by specialized leaves. Wikipedia

Now let me show you the artist's rendition of this plant as I saw it in the art exhibit.

In art or in real life which do you think is more beautiful?

And that's it for this post. Good luck to all the participants and may you all keep safe and healthy.
