Сontest STEEM PLANTS- Semana #44- Orchids

IMG_20210401_120728.jpg

A long time ago this orchid grew annually in my garden and perfumed with its soft vanilla and caramel scent all my environment. Since about two years ago it has not bloomed anymore. This flower you can see now is one of the last pictures I could take of my plant.

This is another orchid as you can see. The photograph was taken in the patio of my friend's house.

It is an orchid of the phalaenopsis species. These are small-sized orchids that grow in flower clusters. They are alive for a considerable time. You can enjoy the flower buds growing repeatedly for about a month.

Of course, the first flowers start to dry in the first 15 days and give way to the next ones until there are no flower buds left and they finish flowering for that year.

The small children of the orchid are born at the base of the plant, this plant then dries with the months and gives rise to the following children that continue with the evolution of the plant.

The white roots that you can see are the aerial roots of the orchid looking for a stick to cling to since they are epiphytes. That is why you see them above the recycled container that functions as a pot.
