UNFORGETTABLE TRIP - WEEK /SETTIMANA #28

A journey back to my working place.

I was with my family this weekend at Matara, my wife's home. So on Monday morning, I had to participate as a jury member representing Sri Lanka Invention Commission. I evaluated open-category inventions and school-category inventions as a panel member. However, this is not about inventions. The programme ended around 4 o'clock in the evening. Also, I had to reach the university premises in Belihuloya for Tuesday's lectures. At this time I had to decide whether go to Colombo and take the longer route or go very early in the morning. Somehow my brother-in-law was also on leave. He was already planning to leave around 5 pm. I asked him whether a seat was available for me as these days we usually share our rides with colleagues. How lucky I was, there was a seat available. The impact he was travelling alone. So I joined him as soon as I reached back home. So we started the journey.

The sunset was starting to take place. While we were on the Expressway to Wellawaya there were breathtaking scenarios created by the dying sun. But my mobile is not so capable of capturing them as I wanted but somehow manged to capture a few scenarios of sky.

This sector of the expressway has the most iconic bridge connecting vehicles to Hambanthota. A giant flyover. I tried my best to capture a good still of this. This is how it came out.

The travelling time to Wellawaya took us around 2 hours. It was getting darker. The last bus directed to my university from Wellawaya was already at the bus stand. I hurried to take it and straightaway it left the station. The bus took a scenic route through Ella. But unfortunately, the lighting was not given the opportunity to see that beautiful scenery. I am expecting to write another day trip to this area sooner.

Thank you very much for stopping by.
Cheers. Peace!!
