Located in northeast Africa, the old Egyptian civilization, also known as “Ancient Egypt,” was one of the most powerful civilizations in the region for more than 3,000 years.

As rulers of ancient Egypt, the pharaohs were both the kings and the supreme religious leaders of the old Egyptian people . The word “Pharaoh” referred to the “Big House” as an indication to the Pharaoh's palace.

Daily life in ancient Egypt (near the pyramids and the Sphinx) was a complex mix of people's preparation for death and their daily activity, in spite of that much of the average Egyptian's life included more time preparing for the celebrations and having a good time. Even in death there seemed to be considerable celebration which included dancing activity.

Ancient Egyptians left their heritage on two places , first one is the wall paintings which offer for us a fascinating insight into the past. the second one is , In their graves (tombs), the paintings on the graves was used to preserve the spirit of the deceased. Most of these painting (art ) generally followed specific rules and had a meaningful words. the study of these paining revealed most of the every day life of old Egyptians and recorded clearly their every day habits .

It is clear from the tomb paintings that music and dance played an important role in the lives of ancient Egyptians, they were attending it in their religious activities. All of these dancing like activities were played in front of the pyramids.

Dancers and musicians, men and women, young and old, enlivened the celebrations with (all types of stringed instruments), as well as drums, to keep the rhythm of the music and to heat up the celebration. Mean while musicians helped the guests to join in, and to sing and clap in groups, revealing much more fun.
