Hello everyone!
The experience of Dear Italy has come to an end and it's time to draw conclusions.
Let's do a quick rundown and see what went well and what could have been better.

- Benefits in Italy community development: thanks to this initiative, we have proposed ourselves as an active and enterprising group, receiving consensus and approval from both the Steemit Team and by users who did not yet know us. In the week of Dear Italy, we have in fact reached and exceeded 400 subscribers and 50 active users, many of whom are not of Italian nationality.
Birth of a new friendship: we really appreciated the participation of the users of the little community of Sri Lanka, who, led by Country Rep @besticofinder, proposed sincere and passionate posts, proving to have perfectly hit the essence of our idea.
Growth of our working group and brainstorming activities: Dear Italy has started an activity of comparison and sharing, between me, Tino from @famigliacurione and the other members of the @Italygame Team, in particular @mikitaly and @sardrt. Although there was already a working table on which we had put ideas and proposals, for the first time we have also publicly extended our considerations. And it was done above all thanks to the question and answer between me and Tino, who, in addition to being the creator of Dear Italy, has repeatedly talked about present and future activities in his Curione Live show, always with the aim of grow our community on Steem.
FLOP 👎
Participation: the number of users who participated in Dear Italy was certainly lower than what we expected when we launched the idea. The reasons are many and we tried to find them, analyzing the situation and orienting our choices accordingly.
Lack of Team spirit among Country Reps: unfortunately, that collaboration we wanted to create with the communities and their representatives did not come out. It is not a criticism of anyone in particular, but only a fact...certainly we too have perhaps thought of taking a step too far at this moment, because evidently it's not yet time to create a global consortium that is in somehow independent of the initiatives of @steemitblog.
Format: probably the formula was a bit too complicated and dispersed. This meant that many users did not find the right incentives to participate and did not become interested and passionate about the initiative.
Ok, having said that, we have decided to continue with Dear Italy.
And we will do it by proposing a phase 2, in which we will make some changes in order to transform our idea and present it in a slightly different way.
We want to try to start from the positive things that have had a good response, but at the same time, try to change the negative ones to try to get better results.
For this reason, we thought that the problems could be:
- uselessness of a global proposal (too extensive for Reps and Communities users)
- need to identify a definite target
- difficulty for users to write about a Country that is not theirs
From these and many other considerations, the new Dear Italy formula came to life.
We want to start from the users who have followed us from the beginning and then from the friends of Sri Lanka and their Country Rep @besticofinder.
We are happy to host them for a week in our Community, as it starts for them
Dear Italy...Greetings from Sri Lanka!
In the week from October 26th to November 1st, we give the opportunity to all Sri Lankan users who want to participate, to tell us about their country, by publishing the posts in the Italy Community and inserting the tags #dearitaly and #srilanka.
Rules for participation
Your post must be published in the Italy Community
The title of your post should be: Dear Italy...Greetings from Sri Lanka!
Feel free to write in your language if you don't know how to write in Italian or English. The important thing is that you use good grammar and a spell checker, as some of our moderators may need to use an online translator to read your post
You can write more than one post during the week, as long as you always share new thoughts and topics related to your Country
Curation
As already done in the first edition, also in this case I will curate the best contents published by users with my personal account @girolamomarotta, with my curation trail top.rewards.club (join it if you want to support us!!), as Community Curator with the @steemcurator06 account, on the days it will be assigned to us, and as curator of @symbionts - @ecosynthesizer.
Furthermore, the Steemit Team, with the account @steemcurator01, supported the most deserving posts of the first edition and we hope that they can do it again on this occasion.
How about this new format?
We think that people can feel much more comfortable talking to us about their Country and, since we really appreciated the words of Sri Lankan users about Italy, we are eager to discover the beauties and peculiarities of their land.
But we don't stop there...
At the end of this post, I will mention all Country Reps again, because I would like the idea in this new form to be proposed to their communities.
The intention is to have a different nation as a guest on Italy every week and to be able to read posts from all over the world, meet new users and create a network of interaction.
If any of you are interested in being the next country hosted in our Community, please contact me privately or leave a comment on this post.
I hope that @steemitblog will also give us visibility, so that as many people as possible are informed of this initiative.
At this point, we just have to start.

L’esperienza di Dear Italy è giunta al termine ed è ora di tirare le somme.
Facciamo un breve resoconto e vediamo cosa è andato bene e cosa poteva andare meglio.

- Benefici nello sviluppo della comunità Italy: grazie a questa iniziativa, ci siamo proposti come un gruppo attivo e intraprendente, ricevendo consensi e approvazione sia dal Team Steemit che da utenti che ancora non ci conoscevano. Nella settimana di Dear Italy, abbiamo infatti raggiunto e superato i 400 iscritti e i 50 utenti attivi, molti dei quali non sono di nazionalità italiana.
Nascita di una nuova amicizia: abbiamo apprezzato molto la partecipazione degli utenti della piccola comunità dello Sri Lanka, che, guidati dal Country Rep @besticofinder, hanno proposto dei post sinceri e appassionati, dimostrando di aver centrato perfettamente l'essenza della nostra idea.
Crescita del nostro gruppo di lavoro e attività di brainstorming: Dear Italy ha dato inizio ad un'attività di confronto e di condivisione, tra me, Tino di @famigliacurione e gli altri membri del Team @Italygame, in particolare @mikitaly e @sardrt. Sebbene già esistesse un tavolo di lavoro sul quale avevamo messo idee e proposte, per la prima volta abbiamo esteso anche pubblicamente le nostre considerazioni. Ed è stato fatto soprattutto grazie ai botta e risposta tra me e Tino, che, oltre ad essere stato l'ideatore di Dear Italy, ha più volte parlato di attività presenti e future nel suo show Curione Live, sempre con l'obiettivo di far crescere la nostra comunità su Steem.

Partecipazione: il numero di utenti che hanno partecipato a Dear Italy è stato sicuramente inferiore a quello che ci aspettavamo quando abbiamo lanciato l'idea. Le ragioni sono tante e abbiamo cercato di trovarle, analizzando la situazione e orientando di conseguenza le nostre scelte.
Mancanza di spirito di Team tra i Country Rep: purtroppo quella collaborazione che volevamo creare con le community e i loro rappresentanti non è venuta fuori. Non è una critica verso nessuno in particolare, ma solo un dato di fatto...certamente anche noi abbiamo forse pensato di fare un passo troppo lungo in questo momento, perché evidentemente non è ancora l'ora di creare una cordata globale che sia in qualche modo indipendente dalle iniziative di @steemitblog.
Format: probabilmente la formula era un po' troppo complicata e dispersiva. Questo ha fatto sì che molti utenti non trovassero gli stimoli giusti per partecipare e non si interessassero e appassionassero all'iniziativa.
Ok, detto questo, abbiamo deciso di continuare con Dear Italy.
E lo faremo proponendo una fase 2, nella quale faremo qualche modifica in modo da trasformare la nostra idea e presentarla in una modalità un po' diversa.
Vogliamo cercare di ripartire dalle cose positive e che hanno avuto un buon riscontro, ma allo stesso tempo, cercare di modificare quelle negative per provare ad ottenere risultati migliori.
Per questo abbiamo pensato che i problemi potevano essere:
- inutilità di una proposta globale (troppo estesa a utenti Reps e Communities)
- necessità di individuare un target mirato
- difficoltà per gli utenti a scrivere di una Nazione che non è la loro
Da queste e da molte altre considerazioni, ha preso vita la nuova formula di Dear Italy.
Vogliamo ripartire dagli utenti che ci hanno seguito fin dall'inizio e quindi dagli amici dello Sri Lanka e dal loro Country Rep @besticofinder.
Siamo felici di ospitarli per una settimana nella nostra Community, visto che per loro inizia

Puoi scrivere anche più di un post durante la settimana, basta che tu condivida sempre nuovi pensieri e argomenti relativi al tuo Paese
Curation
Come già fatto nella prima edizione, anche in questo caso curerò i migliori contenuti pubblicati dagli utenti di tutto il mondo con il mio account personale @girolamomarotta, con il mio trail di curation top.rewards.club (unitevi se volete supportarci), come Community Curator con l'account @steemcurator06, nei giorni in cui sarà assegnato a noi, e come curatore di @symbionts - @ecosynthesizer.
Inoltre il team Steemit, con l'account @steemcurator01, ha supportato i post più meritevoli della prima edizione e speriamo che possa farlo anche in questa occasione.
Che ne dite di questo nuovo format?
Noi pensiamo che le persone possano sentirsi molto più a loro agio a parlarci del loro paese e, visto che abbiamo apprezzato molto le parole degli utenti dello Sri Lanka sull'Italia, siamo impazienti di scoprire le bellezze e le particolarità della loro terra.
Ma non ci fermiamo qui...
Alla fine di questo post, menzionerò nuovamente tutti i Country Rep, perché vorrei che l'idea in questa sua nuova forma fosse proposta alle loro comunità.
L'intenzione è quella di avere ospite su Italy ogni settimana una Nazione diversa e poter leggere post da tutto il mondo, conoscere nuovi utenti e creare una rete di interazione.
