Sabato scorso ho fatto una passeggiata per i boschi vicino al Monte Fumaiolo, al confine tra Romagna e Toscana. In un tratto di bosco composto principalmente da abeti e faggi, mi sono imbattuta in questo fungo che è uno dei più famosi e velenosi che si possano trovare dalle nostre parti: l’Amanita muscaria!
E’ un fungo allucinogeno e velenoso, e il suo colore caratteristico rosso con pallini bianchi è uno dei più famosi nelle rappresentazioni grafiche di un fungo!
L’esemplare che ho incontrato aveva un diametro di circa 20cm… davvero impressionante!

Last Saturday I took a walk through the woods near Monte Fumaiolo, on the border between Romagna and Tuscany. In a stretch of woods composed mainly of fir and beech trees, I came across this mushroom, which is one of the most famous and poisonous to be found in our parts: the Amanita muscaria!
It is a hallucinogenic and poisonous mushroom, and its distinctive red color with white dots is one of the most famous in graphic representations of a mushroom!
The specimen I encountered was about 20cm in diameter--very impressive!
