And here I am, you didn't think I'd be gone after a few days!
Today I was a little later because I had to do some little things, later in the post I'll also tell you what it is.
Let's start with the morning summary which, in reality, is always the fastest and easiest to do and, moreover, the most repetitive.
Yes, my job is beautiful, I cook and do one of the things I'm most passionate about, I change recipes since every day there's something different to prepare, but in reality, I'd be lying if I said it's not repetitive; working in a factory and going on an assembly line for a while, days and tasks repeat themselves; surely time flies by quickly because I like what I do but, it is equally true, that there are not many variations on the theme.
Back home I rewarded myself with a nice plate of "risi e bisi" trivially called risotto with peas eh eh!
Today Reny's mom came to spend some time with us, as well as my mother-in-law, we always like to have some company.
In the afternoon I had to skip my afternoon nap, in fact I left the house immediately after lunch.
My Dad needed a hand with the computer and obviously I couldn't say no; I couldn't and didn't want to, I love spending time with my parents.
You must know that both my parents, before retiring, worked in banks; how everyone has a credit card; my Mother in particular, as a former employee of the Bank of Italy has a particular account, the new card was recently sent to her since the one she had had expired; we learned on this occasion that, in the past, you should have also received a pin, which never arrived.
The card still works even if, in certain exercises, it is necessary to use the Pin, it so happened that for all these years it has never happened to have to do so.
However, for a while now, the bank statements have stopped arriving; obviously my parents have always had everything sent by post and in paper format.
For some time now my Father has been thinking about changing and having everything sent via Mail; obviously to do this we had to enter the appropriate site and then download the app; in all this "brothel" in addition to recovering a password that my Father had lost we also had to find this blessed Pin online and then, in order not to miss anything, we handled other procedures always related to the bank and which necessarily had to be done online.
Moral of the story, I practically lost the whole afternoon, I did everything and my parents were very happy because they really wouldn't have been able to do it on their own; the situation, however, made me think a lot.
Today practically everything is done online, apart from these home banking operations I can mention for example the sending of medical prescriptions by email, or in the period of the Pandemic and the greenpass the latter had to be downloaded online and I could go on like this indefinitely; I don't put online shopping in the middle, you can easily do without that, however there are many necessary things that, unfortunately, people my parents' age have difficulty doing and, I confess, today I too found myself in difficulty.
And, even if I'm not a tech genius, let's say I understand a little.
Already every operation is complicated in itself, especially for those used to using paper, pen and inkwell, also add that all the sites of banks, public administrations and even several of those of private businesses literally suck and the omelette is done.
I recently found myself having to use both the Agenzia delle Entrate and the INPS website and I confess that I really can't get over how much pain these portals can do, but were those who created them paid?
We are talking about slow, cumbersome, not at all optimized sites; think that the INPS one has also just been renovated and, paradoxically, the old one was better, yes, it was more disgusting but, at least, we were used to using it and getting to know it a little.
This reflection of mine leads me to say that technology is not an aid for everyone; considering also that those who are not practical are often left to fend for themselves; we are still far from the future in which everything is computerized and in which everyone is online, at least we are very far from the moment in which all this will be truly efficient and usable by all without distinction.

Ed eccomi qui, non avrai pensato che mi sarei assentato dopo pochi giorni!
Oggi ho fatto un po' più tardi perché ho dovuto sbrigare alcune cosette, più avanti nel post Ti dirò anche di cosa si tratta.
Partiamo con il riassunto della mattinata che, in realtà, è sempre quello più veloce e semplice da fare e, oltretutto, quello più ripetitivo.
Si, il mio lavoro è bello, cucino e faccio una delle cose che più mi appassiona, cambio ricette visto che ogni giorno c'è da preparare qualcosa di diverso, in realtà però, mentirei se dicessi che non è ripetitivo; lavorando in uno stabilimento e andando un po' a catena di montaggio, giorni e compiti si ripetono; sicuramente il tempo vola via veloce perché mi piace ciò che faccio ma, è altrettanto vero, che non ci sono molte variazioni sul tema.
Rientrato a casa mi sono premiato con un bel piatto di "risi e bisi" banalmente detto risotto ai piselli eh eh!
Oggi è venuta a passare un po' di tempo con noi la mamma di Reny, nonché mia suocera, ci fa sempre piacere avere un po' di compagnia.
Nel pomeriggio ho dovuto saltare il mio riposino pomeridiano, sono infatti uscito di casa subito dopo pranzo.
Il mio Papà aveva bisogno di una mano con il computer e, ovviamente, non potevo dire di no; non potevo e non volevo, adoro passare del tempo insieme ai miei genitori.
Devi sapere che entrambi i miei genitori, prima di pensionarsi, lavoravano in banca; come tutti sono in possessi di una carta di credito; mia Madre nello specifico, da ex-dipendente della Banca d'Italia ha un conto particolare, da poco le è stata inviata la nuova carta visto che quella che aveva era scaduta; abbiamo appreso in questa occasione che, in passato, avrebbe dovuto ricevere anche un pin, mai arrivato.
La carta funziona comunque anche se, in determinati esercizi, è necessario usare il Pin, il caso ha voluto che per tutti questi anni non sia mai capitato di doverlo fare.
Però, da un po,' gli estratti conti hanno smesso di arrivare; ovviamente i miei genitori si sono sempre fatti mandare tutto via posta ed in formato cartaceo.
Da qualche tempo mio Padre ha pensato di cambiare e farsi inviare il tutto tramite Mail; ovviamente per fare questo siamo dovuti entrare nel sito apposito ed in seguito scaricare l'app; in tutto questo "bordello" oltre a recuperare una password che mio Padre aveva perso abbiamo anche dovuto reperire questo benedetto Pin online e dopo, per non farci mancare nulla, abbiamo sbrigato altre pratiche sempre inerenti alla banca e che andavano necessariamente fatte in rete.
Morale della favola, ho perso praticamente tutto il pomeriggio, ho sbrigato tutto e i miei genitori erano molto felici perché davvero non sarebbero riusciti in nessun modo a fare da soli; la situazione però mi ha fatto molto riflettere.
Oggi praticamente tutto si fa online, a parte queste operazioni di homebanking posso citare ad esempio l'invio delle ricette mediche per mail, oppure in periodo di Pandemia e di greenpass quest'ultimo andava scaricato online e potrei continuare così all'infinito; non ci metto in mezzo lo shopping online, di quello si può tranquillamente fare a meno, ci sono però tante cose necessarie che, purtroppo, persone dell'età dei miei genitori hanno difficoltà a fare e, Ti confesso, oggi anche io mi sono trovato in difficoltà.
E, anche se non sono un genio della tecnologia, diciamo che qualcosina ne capisco.
Già ogni operazione è di per se complicata, soprattutto per chi è abituato ad usare carta penna e calamaio, mettici anche che tutti i siti di banche, amministrazioni pubbliche e anche parecchi di quelli delle attività private fanno letteralmente schifo e la frittata è fatta.
Recentemente mi sono trovato a dover utilizzare sia il sito dell'Agenzia delle Entrate che quello dell'Inps e Ti confesso che non riesco davvero a capacitarmi di quanto pena possano fare questi portali, ma quelli che li hanno realizzati sono stati pagati?
Parliamo di siti lenti, farraginosi, per nulla ottimizzati; pensa che quello dell'Inps lo hanno anche appena rinnovato e, paradossalmente, era meglio quello vecchio, che si, faceva più schifo però, quantomeno, ci eravamo abituati ad utilizzarlo e un po' a conoscerlo.
Questa mia riflessione mi porta a dire che non per tutti la tecnologia è un aiuto; considerato anche che quelli che non sono pratici sono spesso abbandonati a se stessi; siamo ancora lontani dal futuro in cui tutto è informatizzato ed in cui tutti è online, quantomeno siamo molto lontani dal momento in cui tutto ciò sarà davvero efficiente e fruibile da tutti indistintamente.
