In questi giorni di Giochi Olimpici ci sono in TV programmi dedicati alle gare dei nostri atleti, e in uno di questi programmi mi è capitato di vedere come commentatore, con mia grande gioia e nostalgia “Il Signore degli Anelli” ossia Jury Chechi, ginnasta tra i più grandi di sempre che ha reso l’Italia fiera e orgogliosa per tantissimi anni.

Per chi non lo conoscesse, negli anni novanta ha conquistato qualsiasi cosa conquistabile: sei titoli Italiani consecutivi; quattro Europei; 13 ori ai Giochi del Mediterraneo; tre ori alle Universiadi ma soprattutto dal ’93 al ’97 per cinque anni consecutivi è stato Medaglia d’ Oro ai Mondiali nella sua specialità, gli Anelli conquistando il primato storico di primo ginnasta al mondo a riuscire in tale impresa!
Ovviamente dopo vari infortuni ha conquistato l’Oro alle Olimpiadi di Atene, oltre una serie di argento e bronzo che non starò ad elencare!

Purtroppo come capita a moltissimi grandi Atleti, (ad eccezione dei calciatori) quando finisce la carriera sportiva, ci si dimentica delle loro imprese sportive frutto di anni di duri allenamenti e di vita dedicata completamente allo sport!
Fortunatamente Jury si è trasformato in un abile commentatore sportivo, riuscendo a rimanere presente e permettendoci di ricordarci e rivivere insieme a lui molti di suoi trionfi!
Se potete andate a vedervi le sue gare c’è da rimanere meravigliati e stupefatti!
Tutti in quegli anni sognavano di volteggiare come lui e essere “Il Signore degli Anelli” anche solo per un istante!

Unfortunately, as happens to many great athletes (with the exception of footballers) when their sports career ends, they forget about their sporting achievements, the result of years of hard training and a life dedicated entirely to sport!
Luckily Jury has turned into a skilled sports commentator, managing to stay present and allowing us to remember and relive many of his triumphs with him!
If you can go and see his competitions, you will be amazed and amazed!
Everyone in those years dreamed of twirling like him and being "The Lord of the Rings" if only for a moment!
