Bologna is a city where democracy is an inalienable asset. But Bologna is also a city that has paid a very high price in terms of human lives to achieve this democracy. In the past but also in the more recent present.

There is a place that tells and remembers these people and there is a beautiful main square, the Piazza Maggiore near the fountain of Neptune, along the walls of the former Stock Exchange building.
On the wall you will find photographs of many men and women who were killed during the Nazi occupation of the city during the Second World War.
It is a monument of great emotion and I spent a long time staring at the faces of these people who paid with their lives to defend freedom and democracy.
Immediately after the liberation of the city, on April 21, 1945, many citizens gathered in this place with photos of their missing loved ones. In this way, this shrine was born spontaneously.
There are more than 2000 photographs that are framed and exhibited in this extremely valuable and very exciting outdoor shrine.
A wreath of flowers and bouquets of flowers is the sign of the perennial homage that is always guaranteed by the city.
But in these days another very painful event for the city was remembered with great emotion.
These are the 40 years since the bomb massacre at the railway station that made 80 deaths. Unarmed citizens who died on 2 August 1980 at the hands of a fascist attack. In Bologna, the commemorations that were held right near the shrine of the dead of the resistance were very moving. Bologna is a city that does not forget.
I absolutely wanted to take some time, in front of these people, to reflect on these events that are now distant but that we must always have in our minds and in our hearts.
A parenthesis of reflection and emotion that makes our day less banal and frivolous.

THE DIARY GAME: 09.08.2020 . Un momento di riflessione.
Bologna è la città dell’accoglienza ai giovani di tutti il mondo che vengono a studiare. Bologna è la città di enorme tradizione enogastronomica. Bologna è una città famosa in tutta Italia per via della sua efficienza amministrativa.
Si Vive bene, molto bene a Bologna.
Bologna è una città dove la democrazia è un bene inalienabile.
Ma Bologna è anche una città che per raggiungere questa democrazia ha pagato un prezzo altissimo in termini di vite umane. Nel passato ma anche nel presente più recente.

C’è un luogo che racconta e ricorda queste persone e si trova proprio bella piazza principale, la Piazza Maggiore vicino alla fontana del Nettuno, lungo i muri dell’edificio del ex Borsa.
Sul muro trovate le fotografie di tante persone uomini e donne che sono state uccise durante l’occupazione nazista della città durante la seconda guerra mondiale.
E’ un monumento di grande emozione e sono rimasta molto tempo a fissare le facce di queste persone che hanno pagato con la vita per difendere la libertà e la democrazia.
Subito dopo la liberazione della città, il 21 Aprile del 1945, molti cittadini si sono riuniti in questo luogo con le foto dei loro cari scomparsi.
In questo modo, spontaneamente, è nato questo sacrario.
Sono più di 2000 le fotografie che sono incorniciate e esposte in questo sacrario esterno di grandissimo valore e molto emozionante.
Una corona di fiori e dei mazzi di fiori è il segno dell’omaggio perenne che viene sempre assicurato dalla città.
Ma in questi giorni un altro evento, molto doloroso per la città è stato ricordato con grande emozione.
Sono i 40 anni dalla strage della Bomba alla Stazione Ferroviaria che fece 80 mori. Cittadini inermi che il 2 di Agosto del 1980 morirono per mano di una attentato fascista.
A Bologna sono state molto emozionanti le commemorazioni che si sono tenute proprio vicino al sacrario dei morti della resistenza.
Ho voluto assolutamnete prendermi del tempo, difronte a queste persone, per riflettere su questi eventi ormai lontani ma che dobbiamo avere sempre presente nelle nostre menti e nel nostro cuore.
Bologna è una città che non dimentica.
Una parentesi di riflessione e emozione che rende la nostra giornata meno banale e frivola. Anche in vacanza.
