Georgian hospitality

Сказать, что сегодня было холодно... это ничего не сказать. При отрицательной температуре воздуха и отсутствии снега асфальт и булыжные мостовые начинают вытягивать из тебя тепло. Если печь является источником теплового излучения и ты тепло получаешь, то холодный камень делает источником тепла твоё тело и ты его отдаёшь. Добавьте сюда колючий ветер и картина будет полной.

Немного снега появилось в трещинах дорог и это вселяет надежду. Но этого явно мало. Полдня мы гуляли по Васильевскому острову Санкт-Петербурга (Россия). Пока не начало темнеть. Наша машина стоит за углом левого здания, но справа мы увидели тёплый свет.

To say that it was cold today... it's nothing to say. When the air temperature is below zero and there is no snow, asphalt and cobblestone pavements begin to draw heat out of you. If the furnace is a source of thermal radiation and you receive heat, then a cold stone makes your body a source of heat and you give it away. Add a prickly wind here and the picture will be complete.

A little snow appeared in the cracks of the roads and this gives hope. But this is clearly not enough. For half a day we walked around Vasilievsky Island of St. Petersburg (Russia). Until it started to get dark. Our car is standing around the corner of the left building, but on the right we saw a warm light.

Я не знаю, кому пришла идея этого дикого дизайна... протянуть водопроводную трубу по потолку и стене зала этого милого грузинского кафе. Они явно не рассчитывали, что кто-то будет заниматься здесь фотосъёмкой. Но мне понравились две картины на противоположных стенах.

I do not know who came up with the idea of this wild design... to stretch a water pipe along the ceiling and wall of the hall of this cute Georgian cafe. They clearly did not expect that someone would be engaged in photographing here. But I liked the two paintings on the opposite walls.

Это значит, что мне опять пришлось заниматься постобработкой...

This means that I had to do post-processing again...

Помимо всего прочего в зале стоял полумрак. Мне пришлось установить ISO1000. Обычно я так не делаю, но другого выхода не было... как и штатива для длинной выдержки.

Among other things, the hall was in semi-darkness. I had to install ISO 1000. I don't usually do that, but there was no other way out... as well as a tripod for long exposure.
